isleseeya
I had # 1 pick in one of my drafts and took Larry Johnson ...so far i have been pleased and he has helped me into playoffs and the semi's I looked at his numbers ( over 1400 yards to date ) and 15 td's ...almost 1800 total yards obvious that LT has stolen the spot light in a big way but i think overall LJ has been awesome ( could use a monster day by him tomorrow though ) will be interesting to see how LJ and LT do head to head tomorrow with their teams playing a primte time game on Sunday night i predict Johnson gets more rushing yards tomorrow , LT gets more reciving yards and both will score same amount of TD's ...will pick
The Wolf
Semifinals in my local. I own LJ and my opponent owns LT. He won our division and gained the top seed while I had to settle for #4. We were separated by one game and were also 1-2 in scoring (he had me by 22 points -- no one else was even close). Watching that game tomorrow night is gonna be awesome...it's what FF is all about. Of course, with LT playing a maniac and LJ "only" playing like a man, I am happy I have Peyton on Monday night as the last player remaining for either team. To answer your question, LJ has been very solid this season...not spectacular like last season. LT has been amazing, no question. Call him the #2 back in FF to LT's far-out-in-front #1. Tally
will be interesting to see how LJ and LT do head to head tomorrow with their teams playing a primte time game on Sunday night Really looking forward to that game also. I think LJ has had a terrific season, definitely better than I thought he would. Between the offensive line changes and Herm Edwards, I didn’t think he would be as good as everyone else did. I really thought Herm would kill his value. Kick field goals on 4th and goal from the 1.. ECT. I guess all these years watching Herm coach in NY made me over think that. I actually bet someone at the beginning of the season that S. Jackson would out perform LJ this season. Obviously, I’ll be forking over 100 clams soon enough. Skippy
Larry has had a great season but it is in the shaddow of a KILLER season for Tomlinson. DMD
If it were not for LT, then we would all be talking about LJ as the uber-stud this year. Using performance scoring without reception points, here are some FF points currently: Tomlinson - 364 L Johnson - 271 S Jackson - 226 W Parker - 220 Westbrook - 215 Gore - 209 Rudi Johnson - 174 Tiki Barber - 174 K Jones - 169 C Taylor - 166 and drops faster and faster At this time last year, Alexander had 1568 total yards and 23 TDs for a total of 294 FF points. Johnson is only 20 points shy of that and LT is 70 points ahead. What Tomlinson has done this year (scoring 26 times in the last nine weeks) is without any precedent. Johnson is having the standard "best stud RB" year that happens each season. LT is having a season for the ages. Seriously.
Bier Meister
what really seems like the difference maker to me (for both of them) is: 1. they are both fantastic 2. they both stayed healthy #2 is what puts owners in the playoffs. isleseeya
LJ did have to overcome Herm ..and changes including injuries and retirement to the OL ...amazing season so far LT has set the bar so high he may be the only one in the future who can top this seasons #'s and that may still not happen can not beleive LT is supposedly extra motivated this week because Chargers claim members of Chiefs called them soft ...LT extra motivated ...thats scarier than any horror movie Edited December 16, 2006 by isleseeya
Bier Meister
for sure - everyone who has either westy or gore as #2 is in the playoffs yes.. think about the difference staying healthy made between a westbrook, dunn, or chester taylor vs. a r. brown, kevin jones, and deshawn foster...... and how magnified that gets when you compare lt/lj to the other mid tier (or even some of the other 1st round picks)-but good imo- rb's who could not stay helathy... Life is good. That game should be a blast to watch.
Chavez
On the ground floor of a dynasty, I was ecstatic to get LJ after the guy with the #1 pick grabbed LT; given the relative wear-and-tear of the two, I see no reason to regret the way things worked out. LT is having a season for the ages, whereas LJ is just having what would be MVP-level production during any other year. I face a team with BOTH of them on it today. kraftykraft
You can't really complain if you drafted LJ with the first pick. He has performed up to expectations, scoring about 1 TD and 100 yards a game. Obviously, LT would have been the first pick if people knew he was going to go nuts this year, but hindsight it easy. Shaun Alexander got drafted second or third in most leagues, and probably first in a few, and look how his season has turned out.
