I heard that Belichick ignored Peyton when he went to shake his hand at the end of the game. This was on Rome's show, so I'm not sure if it's true or not. Anybody else see this?

Meh, not really. He didn't hug him and give him a reach around, but there was a quick pat on the shoulder and a few quick words.

I swear I saw that on tv...I was think it was a dik move...wonder what UT thought of it?

I saw this somewhere in another thread and had Tivod the game so I went back to watch it. Peyton was actually trying to get over to Belichick when the coaches were meeting up (even went as far as trying to call out to him) and was pushed back by the crowd. After Belichick was through with Dungy he walked by Peyton and shook his hand and said something to him. Peyton's back was to the camera and sorta shielding the handshake from that camera angle, but Belichick did acknowledge Manning and congratulate him.

I JUST saw a highlight of this on SportsCenter. They showed Manning walking towards Belichick with this hand out in anticipation of shaking his hand. Belichick just walked RIGHT past him. Manning (with his hand waiting for a handshake) turned to his side and patted Belichick on his shoulder. Belichick then just kept walking. Didnt even stop to congradulate him. Would Dungy have done that to Brady? Absolutely NOT!!!

What a classy guy!!! LT2 may be on to something!

Oh for cripe's sake. You're going to the super bowl, move on with your life. :D And you're wrong, too, though that probably doesn't matter. :D

So I guess SportsCenter staged it for the highlights right? That was some pretty good special effects!!

Till the Superbowl is over I thought.

The actual wording I believe was until the Super Bowl. Whether that means through the entire game or up until kick off, I don't know (nor do I care). They will have already gone through the "pain and suffering" of cheering for the Colts for 2 weeks, and if they are really that concerned about a sig during the Super Bowl, more power to them to change it.

Have played against Belichick type players throughout my life. In most cases they were a$$holes outside the competitive arena as well. Those types really don't bother me, but I do feel sorry for them. Got to figure he was abused as a child.

I call bull. I can't stand Belichick, but I have to give him credit where due. Right after the video starts at the :02 mark, you will see a brief handshake between the two men.

Untrue. He gave him a quick chuck on the shoulder and said a few words. Didn't stop to chat. He'd already done the congratulations thing with Dungy.

I've also read that there were more conversations in the tunnel out of sight of reporters. Less grist for the mill.

You must be blind then, 'cause it absolutely was true.

Peyton waited for Dungy and Belichik to finish, then went over to him and started to talk. Belichik gave him a courtesy shake of his hand, didn't make eye contact and walked away...quickly. He definitely did not stop and have a few words.

If you saw that any other way, like I said, you must be blind.

I thought it was pretty hard to tell whether or not he shook his hand. My initial perception was that he didn't. He may have but from that video it certainly wasn't definite IMO.

If you can't see the difference between these two statements, maybe it's you who is blind. I never said they sat down for tea, I said that BB gave him a quick chuck on the shoulder, said a word or two and left. That's not the same thing as 'didn't congratulate at all'. It really isn't. Could he have been warmer and more gracious, sure I suppose so. I guess I'd still prefer to have the coach who's pissed off that he lost the game and has coached his team to 3 super bowls in 5 years, etc and so forth.

Am I somehow failing to speak English here?
