Subduction leads to Orogeny

Where I'm at in NorCal, we are sitting on top of a triple subduction zone: the Pacific, No. American and Juan de Fuca plates all meet here. Making it one of the most seismically unstable places in the country, I dunno about the world.

Some geniuses thought it'd be a good idea to build a nuclear power plant here, a while back. After it was built and the uranium rods were in place, somebody raised the issue that maybe the most likely epicenter of a hugh earthquake wasn't an ideal location for a nuclear power facility. It has stood empty since. I think the rods are still in place. :D
