driveby
The Prius is kind of a gimmicky car. Toyota originally designed it for young geeks in Tokyo: gadget-crazy young guys
loaf
not only that but there's EMS out there that won't use the jaws of life on hybrids/electrics for fear of of getting electrocuted. I'm sure as the amount of these cars make their way to the roads, the EMS technology/training will go up.

Perchoutofwater
Not only is it a death trap, it has a larger carbon footprint than an H2 when you take into consideration producing it, maintaining it, etc...
bushwacked
Not only is it a death trap, it has a larger carbon footprint than an H2 when you take into consideration producing it, maintaining it, etc... From your link: The difference comes largely in the increased efforts required to dispose of hybrid technology materials (such as hazardous nickel). While the CNW study is where the rumors originates, the results of the report do not indicate that the H2 is more environmentally friendly than the Prius. It is important to note that energy costs are not the same as environmental damage. Such a realization outright eliminates the report as proof that the H2 is more environmentally friendly from production to disposal.
Perchoutofwater
True, the energy costs can actually be measured the environmental "costs" can't be measured.
bushwacked
True, the energy costs can actually be measured the environmental "costs" can't be measured. Did you read your link? According to your link, the energy costs are estimated CNW Marketing Research, Inc. is a forecasting firm that has taken it upon themselves to estimate and report a number................ is calculated based on all amounts of energy that are required to produce, assemble, sell, operate, maintain and dispose of the vehicle over its entire life cycle You posted a link that contradicted your claim. Not to mention, the final two paragraphs go into detail about how the energy costs of the Prius were largely undershot by the CNW study. Perchoutofwater
Yea, you posted a link that contradicted your claim. Not to mention, the final two paragraphs go into detail about how the energy costs of the Prius were largely undershot by the CNW study. Says Toyota, that's independent. I'll trust the independent numbers. Based on it being a new technology I find the numbers CNW used more believable then the one Toyota claims. At any rate, the supposed benefits of the Prius is not nearly as good as advertised. BTW I like Toyota, I drive a Toyota product. My wife drives a Yukon XL. Both of our vehicles have a lower energy cost than a Prius.
bushwacked
Says Toyota, that's independent. No, says autropolis.com. The link you posted. So, while some reports may indicate the H2 is less costly in terms of energy costs per estimated mile, there is no evidence to support the claim that the H2 is more environmentally friendly than the Prius. Simply put, the rumors draw faulty conclusions from an interesting (though possibly inaccurate) study. In this emissions showdown, the Toyota Prius is the clear -- although not entirely obvious -- winner. I'm about to buy a Prius like I'm about to pay for a Hummer. I'm also not going to judge anyone for what vehicle they buy, or use selective research to make a desperately failed point. Then again, I'd probably post something that supports my claim, instead on directly contradicting it, if I were to do so.
