Brentastic
citi still denying it. More I thought about it - I'm not buying this story of a 'glitch' or 'error'. The powers that be in this country are trying so desparately to keep these paper mache walls from crumbling. Fact is, the market is going to collapse and there's nothing that can stop it. I mean, it's not like the market was up today before this happened. The market was down nearly 200 points before this debacle.

Brentastic
Conspiracy?!?!?!?! The name of the trader was "Elliot Wave" . . . . Do you believe everything you read? I know your post is somewhat tongue-in-cheek but still. Just because there are articles claiming an 'error' ocurred doesn't mean that's truth. It could be truth, but today should be analyzed from all angles. And if it's not obvious by now that the government, the financial system and the media are desparately trying to pass off the 2007-2008 as 'nothing to worry about' and we have 'recovered', then there's not much me or anyone else can say to change your mind. (not you directly, just the public in general)

Yeah, I figured Dmarc - you're not buying this 'fat finger' excuse are you? I don't think it's even possible that a mistake of that magnitude could hit the print. Not to mention that's a tripple zero mistake. Plus the fact that if indeed the trader intended on selling a millions shares, I can't see him attempting that at market cost. This has nothing to do with conspiracy theory either, just common sense.
