Uruguay was basically rewarded for illegally preventing a ball from going into the net. Sure, dude should make the PK, but that would have been a goal were it not for a defender batting the ball out of the air with his hand. And there's no speculation because dude was standing on the goal line. that was just a cruel, cruel way to lose. i was rooting for ghana, simply because they were the closest thing left to the "home country." i agree with you about uruguay being rewarded. it was the soccer equivalent of goaltending -- and then making the shooter make the free throws instead of automatically awarding his team the points.
