"A year and a half ago, you were threatening to secede from the United States. What over the last 18 months has changed your mind to the point that now you want to lead it?"

We decided to secede and leave you Rick Perry as a parting gift.

It sure is ironic after all of the non-stop ridiculous prattling about Obama being a Socialist, the Republicans appear to have the most radical bunch of leading nominees (minus Romney) for POTUS that we've witnessed in recent history. Hopefully that far right pendulum starts swinging back to the center soon.

The very fact that you think Romney is to be excluded form the list of radicals makes me realize that he SHOULD be excluded from the list of Republican nominees.

i hope so too, for both sides.

my theory has always been that about 80% of us are "in the middle" somewhere. some more right, some more left, but a large majority could probably come to compromise or at least a small understanding of others beliefs. sadly, i believe the 10% on both ends is who is in office. they don't represent the general numbers at all.

so of course, as i'm watching the debate the other night listening to these folks ramble and argue amongst themselves, i was asking myself, "these are the choices? this is what the republican party is bringing to the table? this is going to change things?".

the country is pretty screwed up right now. sadly, i don't see any light at the end of the aisle coming from this gang or the gang of folks currently in office. very depressing.

This is only because of the overreaching effects of the far left that is currently in office. Besides, you don't even know what "center" looks like.

from the predictable reaction of the lefties here I guess this would indicate he's the frontrunner.

Uh-oh. That seemed a bit like a joke.

I have been informed by BPWallace that jokes are not allowed in political posts.

It seems Mr BPWallace felt the need to PM me to let me know he was offended at my JOKE about Bushwacked looking like Bachman and insinuating that Bushwacked may be ghey by eating corn dogs. He does not like people taking shots at people even if they OBVIOUSLY are jokes.

Due to my breaking the rules that have been set aside by Mr Wallace and him informing me that I am not smart enough or near witty enough to engage in these adult conversations on a message board I will have to step aside.

Thank you BP for showing me the light. You sir are the BEST ( I threw in some caps just for you BIG GUY).

I think he should definitley answer for the situation. Even if nothing is found to be technically illegal, I agree with the thoughts below:

"It is fundamentally immoral and arrogant," says state representative David Simpson, a tea party-backed freshman from Longview, two hours east of Dallas. The fund "opened the door to the appearance of impropriety, if not actual impropriety."

I really don't know much about Perry at all, but I do think that it is pretty funny that he is obviously considered a major threat to the Lefties now, and all guns will be blazing from this moment on.

 I think perry has the best shot of any of the republican candidates. E eryone has drawbacks, but he is the most electable.

Perry is going to win this. Its over. He is the most lying, slick, teflon coated politician since Clinton. Obama doesn't have a chance.

Do you really think this country is going to elect another Texas governor anytime soon?

I know it's not that easy, but I think plenty of Americans see him as a Bush clone.

Other than an article being posted discussing Perry's apparent involvement in siphoning money to supporters via a technology committee, what attacks are these?

And, FWIW, I posted an article recently pointing out that the Democrat Rangel is a corrupt POS too (this was his involvement in excusing GE from paying taxes because they paid him off), so I breathlessly await your non-partisan contribution.

No kidding. That leftist WSJ with its partisan attacks on the right is out of control. Meanwhile, you're setting a precedent of looking the other way on flaws from Obama's challengers because you apparently still have sour grapes about your perfect candidate McCain losing in 2008. Well done.
