Tford
I'm kind of surprised that NE didn't make room for him as a blitz pickup specialist. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82ace50c/article/joseph-addai-released-by-new-england-patriots
delfamdelfam
wouldn't be suprised if the Eagles picked him up, they were interested in him before he signed with the Pats and they need a power back. Dion Lewis also got into trouble with the law so not sure how that is going to pan out.
bostonsoxandy
More evidence McDaniels is convincing Belichick that the right move is to throw Brady's arm off this season.
SpinalTapp
Perhaps more goal line carries for Ridley.
Trots
The Ravens could use an experienced backup.

Wpob
Traded Ridley because of Addai. Still OK with the deal but I thought Addai would have stuck and carved out a decent role.
CaptainHook
Just shows what a massive mistake the Colts made re-signing him going into 2011. Never understood that contract, and he proved it by not being able to stay healthy (again). Not at all surprised by New England cutting him. He's always hurt, and hasn't been very good the last couple years. It is interesting the Patriots signed Addai and Anthony Gonzalez, and neither could even make it to training camp. Agreed, but just one more decision that ultimately let to Luck - and the new direction Indy is headed.

DMD
Addai is 29 and has never remained healthy for a full season in the past five years. He doesn't have the fresh legs of Ridley or Vereen and his release is not a sign they are planning on passing any more. It is just a sign that Addai is an over the hill back who constantly gets hurt and that is no longer an effective runner. He was expected to be released by the end of training camp but did not even make it that far.

That they're looking for RBs who can contribute in a meaningful way to a running game.

cmutts
Before a player can practice they have to pass Bill's conditioning test. It varies based on position and local sports radio stated he could not complete it and did in fact quit.
piratesownninjas
Vereen was taking 1st team reps in OTA's. Incorrect. That was one series on one day. Ridley and Vereen rotated.

Bronco Billy
Incorrect. That was one series on one day. Ridley and Vereen rotated. So Vereen wasn't taking 1st team reps? Or was he rotating on the 1st team?
Crazysight
more proof the pats were foolish by not adding another back in the draft. Plenty of good talent was still available late. Turbin and Miller were available until the early 4th, Michael Smith was there until the 7th, and Chris Polk was never even drafted.
