Religions, Religious Beliefs, thoughts on the after life...

Just like the vaccination thread, this is meant more as a, what do you believe in, thread.  Has is changed since you were a kid?  What were your experiences growing up?  Good, bad, indifferent?  Do you still practice or worship in any way?  And if you do, is it because of legit beliefs or familial pressures?

I believe that Jesus was a special person that did incredible things.  I believe in God but just as an energy or spirit of some kind.  I go to church many Sunday mornings not during football season.  Mostly just to support the community since they do great things for it and I like some of the folks there.  It's a good outlet and way to engage the community.

Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the enchilada, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.

Where do I sign up? 😊

I believe Jesus works for the good for the people, but I dislike people trying to shove their religion down my face.

Yep that's as bad as non-believers trashing religion, telling you to stop believing myths etc. I don't let religion drive my every decision.

I grew up in the church, (Eastern Orthodox) dad was a priest. Like most who were forced to go and be involved for so many years I drifted away in my adult life. Later in life I returned and am more involved now than I thought I would be. My faith isn't the strongest, but I believe and there are times when it can be very helpful, and the people and community are very good.

Going through the motions as a Roman Catholic for social reasons.

Jesus was a good guy who motivated people, just like many other spiritual leaders.

A good story can go a long way, and that's OK.

God, whatever HeSheZhe/it is, is in your head.  And that's OK too.

Do unto others, dont take anyone's manure, and so long as their hand isnt in your back pocket let others do as they please.
