Randy Moss?!?

Perhaps if Moss didn't do "bad things" on the field or get arrested off of it, the big bad media wouldn't have any fodder for trashing him.

I realize that Moss probably does a lot of good things that he doesn't get much credit for (charity work, etc.), but the perception that he's a self-absorbed, classless jerk isn't a false one fed to us by the sensationalist media.  It's reality.

Its the world we live in ...I mean the guy is a jerkoff and every month or two something happens...but lets get real he runs around a field catching a ball...If he didnt he would be locked up somewhere in jail...or living in the ghetto jobless with 9 kids...what he did well thats what he is...there are millions just like him but they are not on national TV thats the only difference...its just a stupid sport nothing more nothing left and a majority of the players are pretty ignorant , mindless humans that are very fast or very big or both but thats their talent...like a racehorse...the best horses go to the track the the fastest and biggest humans play sports...they are not their because of their intelligence or class...most are like children not all but most.

You see to your kids upbringing and leave the activities of these athletes out of it.

So, you're saying I shouldn't take my kids to the game? Are you saying I shouldn't watch the game on the tv with my 7 and 4 yr old kids? Because of one jerk of the 104 on the field?

And is MOSS the only one to be seen cursing on TV?

So, if it's been done once before, then it's okay to do it again? Or, are you saying that if it's been done once before, we should allow it to occur again? Is it really his cursing that is under the microscope here, or the overall attitude that goes along with it?

Why can't Vikes homers just admit that Moss is a jackass?

They should take a lesson from Laker fans who have stopped buying the Kobe jersey in significant numbers ... Great receiver, jerk. Tough to root for outside of completely blind homerism.

Failing to see the connection between a guy who raped a girl and a guy who does classless things on the field. :D

No...I'm saying stop being silly and melodramatic. I'm saying that your 4 and 7 year olds have seen this stuff before so stop using them as an excuse to bash somebody. You should make sure that they know what they shouldn't be doing.. and seeing somebody do something they shouldn't be doing is actually a good opportunity to differentiate for your kids.

Also, someone pointed out the fact that Moss was cursing on the sidelines. The point that it's been done before was made to signify the fact that without some kind of delay, it's IMPOSSIBLE to keep it from happening again and again. Again, don't use that as an excuse to bash somebody. There's no law against cursing. With live TV, it's the chance you take.....period.

No homer here, but I personally thought it was funny. In fact, while I was at the Houston-Minny game earlier this year, he was messing with the crowd then too. But even as a Texan fan, I found it entertaining which is what professional sports is about is entertainment, right. I do not see why everyone is raising such a fuss about it. And how many people out there have never given a good ol' fashioned :D at some point in there life. Sure yours wasn't on national TV, but is any better than him imitating the same gesture. And why I am on my soap box, how come this big of deal was not made when Plummer shot the bird at fans. Sure it was mentioned, but not to this extent. I have to agree, sometimes I feel some people do have it in for Moss.

Poor Randy. He is so misunderstood. He reminds me of Marvin Harrison, Barry Sanders, and Hines Ward all rolled into one. :D

There is certain things that you watch were it is implied that that type of thing shouldnt happen.Although football has changed over the years You still have to hold out hope that when your watching a game with your 4 year old and trying to share and pass down football to your kid you dont expect to see a man pretend to wipe his ass on a goalpost. Its not that im prude or that the childish part of me didnt find any humor in it.Its just bush league.

Ok, hes no Harrison, Payton, or Sanders, but I thinkyou have your homer glasses on when you throw Ward in there. This is the same guy voted by NFL players as the dirtiest player in the game. I'll give you he is a excellent receiver and a great blocker, but he is no saint.

Show me this voting. Is this something the AP hands out or what ? D-backs don't like him because he blocks every play, plain and simple. They aren't used to it. He plays the game exactly how it shoule be played and I stand by my statement.

:D The Vikings will lose big at the Linc on Sunday. They played there super bowel last week. The Birds with out TO will roll against a poorly coached team. The Eagles will use this game as a tune up for the NFC Championship. Moss may walk off the field at half time when the score is out of hand!!!

Wow. Nice work. I truly thought that was a made up thing. I still attribute it to D-backs not liking a guy who blocks every play, no matter where the ball is going.

From an AP Article on ESPN.com this AM:

"Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy said he saw Moss' action and, "I thought it was kind of humorous."

"It's not the kind of thing you want to see on national TV, but I understand what it was all about," he said.

"Anyone who has played in the NFC Central knows what that's about. The fans in Green Bay have a tradition in the parking lot after the game where they moon the visiting team's bus," he said. "It's kind of a unique send-off."

"I had seen it seven times because when I was with the Vikings, we lost to them seven times up there," he said."

I had no idea about this supposed Green Bay Tradition, and find it interesting that it hadn't been mentioned anywhere in this thread. It kind of adds an additional context to things.

Since when is fake mooning a hostile crowd such a horrible thing? I think everyone needs to lighten up. According to Tony Dungy, the Packers fans moon (with bare a$$e$) the opposing team every Sunday:

"Anyone who has played in the NFC Central knows what that's about. The fans in Green Bay have a tradition in the parking lot after the game where they moon the visiting team's bus," he said. "It's kind of a unique send-off."

A couple of posters made a great point earlier about how those ridiculous commentators were critizing Moss on the same network that shows soft-core porn on primetime. What a joke!

At least Ward shows respect for the game when he's on the field and conducts himself with a shred of class off of it. Comparing him to Moss is WAY off base.
