rhippens
How would you fix the refereeing problem. More instant replay? 1380628[/snapback] first off, make the referee's full-time employees. enough of these guys that are too old or chubby to stay with a play instead calling it from 15 yards behind. also, if they make them full-timers, during the week they can be critiqued and watch fill to see their mistakes and good calls. they would be responsible for watching game fill and prior calls which have been "apologized for" by the nfl. second, yes, more replay. but not necessarily more red flags for coaches, but more calls from upstairs. you think seattle fans would give a sh#t about waiting another 3 minutes during the super bowl. i don't think it would slow the game down all that much than it already is by tv timeouts and referees catching their breath. anyway, the nfl would love some more advertising revenue. but if a call is wrong and a referee in a booth can clearly make that judgement, then it should be done. third, they should make nearly all plays reviewable. i think it's a crock that certain rulings on the field can't be reviewed. don't we want them all called correctly? just my take. cheezhed
Often thought rookies should make one set amount regardless of position or where you were picked in draft. (You haven't done anything yet) 2nd year players all make same flat salary, but are able to make more with performance based incentives. Once you have 4 years in league, you would be considered a VET. Then you would get bumped to a "vet salary" (say $750,000 per year) ,but once again you would be able to make more with performance based incentives. Once you've reached certain pre-determined performance #s for 3 years straight, you would be bumped to "Stud status" (for lack of better word). With that comes $1mill per year salary plus performance based incentives (which would increase with the "stud status"). Incentives would be straight across the board. EX: ALL QBs could receive flat bonus once they reach 3,000 yds then again after 3,500 yds and so on up the scale. Same for TDs, so much for 20 TDs, then more for 25 and so on. The same type of scale bonus system would be in place for RBs/ WRs/ Kickers and so on. Also a bonus scale for defensive players with tackles, sacks, ints, etc. ALL BONUS' WOULD BE THE SAME FOR ALL QBS regardless whether you name is Peyton Manning or Joey Harrington. Also bonus' for all players advancing into playoffs and higher bonus the further your team progresses into playoffs. Don't know, just a thought

Caveman_Nick
I would include a loyalty clause in the CBA that had special salary cap ramifications for players that have been on teams for a period of time, allowing a separate pool of pre-revenue share money for each team to help keep 'signature' players. Bring back a little player loyalty and downplay the laundry a bit.

Guest THEbigred
1. Eliminate the signing bonus loophole and make the cap a true cap. 2. Phase out astroturf and similar crapola. The game should be played on grass. 3. Similarly press the owners hard to phase out domes. The game should be played outside. 4. Work on the ref thing, but keep instant replay. 5. Make "retirement" mean something other than a way for players to get out of situation they signed up to in the first place, eg if you retire, you cannot play in the NFL for at least 3-4 years, something like that. 6. Stiff penalties and in extreme cases fines for excessive "celebrating" BS. You score, you're permitted to spike the ball, maybe get some high-5s and/or a hug from teammates. That's it. No asinine dances, cell phones, ad nauseum. 7. Most of all, Crack down BIG TIME on a - h oles like Owens etc (he should have never made it to Philly, for starters). PS and oh btw if you're convicted of a felony, you're expelled from the league. Period. Busted for drug use? Hm - if it's pot or steriods, first-time offenders suspended for a year (and all accompanying pay of course). Repeat offenders? Expelled. Anything worse, eg coke etc? No 2d chance, you're outta here and I'll help however I can to get you behind bars. Oh yeah push Gene Upchuck off a cliff while I'm at it. DMD
I would make the CBA have a stipulation that both the NFL and the NFLPA has to drop current lawsuits against the fantasy industry and learn to embrace what is actually propelling them so far.
