Caveman_Nick
I have been thinking about this for a little while now. The idea came to me after the first time I saw the Huddle Top Gun Writers league. There are a lot of very good FF players on this site, probably more than the regular masses know about, but a good crop of which participates in BotH leagues. It would be interesting to try and develop a voting process based on which we would choose participants for a Huddle Allstars League. I am thinking that each BotH Commish could get their league mates to rate the top 3 players in their leagues, and then someone (like me, say) could take all of those votes and determine who the Huddle masses thought were the top 14(?) players. Those players, plus an alternate list in case someone wasn't interested, would be invited to participate in a redraft style league for the next season. Rules and scoring TBD of course. This could also be done based on first, second, and third place finishes, but I for one like the idea of a vote. I like 14 teams because it's unusual and will make the players think a little bit more than a standard 12 team format. The league would also need a commish, and a way to determine who that commish would be. It could be the top vote getter, or maybe the top vote getter that didn't make it. It could also be on a volunteer basis just to participate in the league. LMK your thoughts.
rajncajn
Not to shoot you down, but a couple of things I don't see working. 1. It would be very hard to get Huddlers to vote for anyone but themselves. :oldrazz: 2. You won't be able to have a set number of teams due to owners in multiple BOTH leagues. If you have Huddlers getting voted in from multiple leagues that leaves you short. 3. Not many owners would be willing to take on commish duties. If it's done you need to have a set commish run things from year-to-year. It would be a pain in the rearend for someone to have to learn all the in's & out's on a yearly basis in order for the league to run smoothly. I'm not saying it won't work. I know a couple of leagues I've been in have discussed it. The problem is getting the cooperation of enough leagues & plenty of participation/input. I do like the idea of it though. I do like the idea of it though. 1) I agree. that's one of the reasons I suggested people vote for a top 3. It could also be a requirement that people aren't allowed to vote for themselves. 2) There are 60 leagues, and in this format we would be looking to fill a small number of slots. I am not looking to try and do a 60 team competition necessarily. If we were going to create a contest like that I would be almost inclined to want just the BotH Champions that want to participate, and no voting. 3) I guess we will have to see how that works out... Kid Cid
Rather than voting, why not invite BOTH champions? I feel that performance is more indicative of capability than a popularity contest. Rank them on the number of BOTH banners they have collected and then start asking people from the top of the list.
Pope Flick
I founded a new keeper league this season, and we spoke of a larger Keeper Idea. Our League is Norris, and it's 12 fans of NFCNorth teams, 3 each Bears, Lions, Vikes and Lions. One fan per division. We're using the Huddle Perfect system that has been tweaked on the Defensive side so they don't lose points as rapidly as they do in the pure system. Anyways, the idea is similar to what ou're proposing. If we had 7 other leagues to coordinate with - Leagues built around the same division fan concept for the other 7 NFL divisions, there could be a 16 way google-header come Week 16, especially if everyone is using the same system for that game (decimal scoring). In other words, the 8 Super Bowls will produce one highest scoring team. That guy is Huddle Champion out of what would be 96 teams.

Pope Flick
The Packers are not the Lions. Maybe it was just a freaudian slip - my thinking the Lions will be twice as good as the Pack this year.
Caveman_Nick
Agreeing on scoring rules could make it difficult... That's one of the reasons I want to get the commishes involved. The league should be a contest for the people participating, but IMHO they shouldn;t have any say in the scoring rules or other league requirements. It should be something that is put to them as a challenge. Maybe DMD and WW might even donate a prize
gilthorp
Not all BOTH leagues are equal. I know none of my BOTH leagues are watered down ...but what about the ones with...let's say....JJ and Twiley....they certainly are.

But a contest for all BotH champions would be necessarily different than one for 14 people in by vote of their piers. I'm not against going in that direction. What kind of a contest should that be? If we could come up with some kind of salary cap team building structure, and then maybe a way to conduct transactions throughout the year, then we could have each of the BotH champs build a team and see how they do. I wouldn't want to do something like the MVP challenge, because it's already being done.
BillyBalata
One other thing to take into consideration...some of the All Stars may tell you they are already in too many leagues and don't want to participate.

Of course. That was my thinking in trying to get the top group, and then establish a list of eligibility from there based on the votes.
