Ryan Posted January 19, 2007 Share Posted January 19, 2007 At the Cowboys compound, Parcells walks out the front door each day to the press, but today security escorted all the media from the building and Parcells was said to have left out the side door without speaking to the media, during the commotion of the media leaving. Guys like Belichick, Cowher, Holmgren, you know why they're successful? Because they're actually too smart to coach football. Come to think of it, I bet they hate it too." "The worst part of my success was that it meant if I wanted any kind of successful career, I had no choice but to spend my time dealing with really stellar guys like Drew Bledsoe, Lawrence Taylor, Keyshawn Johnson, and Terrell Owens," Parcells said in an effort to explain his often fractious relationship with most of his players. "Solid-gold citizens, football players. If they're not boring as hell, they're arrogant drug-crazed felons." "You guys thought I was hard on them to make them better players," Parcells added, "but really I was hard on them because, except for Harry Carson and that one blond guy from the Giants, I hated every man who ever played for me very, very much." Parcells said that, although the sport had led him down a cold, lightless path that seemed to lead down an ever-steeper path toward a premature stress-hastened death, it had taught him a few important lessons. "First of all, never do anything you hate, even if it's the only thing you're good at, no matter how tempting the fame and the money are," said Parcells, who now regrets "measuring out my life one excruciating wind-sprint drill, one interminable video session, one bone-stick-stone stupid press conference at a time, until nothing is left at the tail end of my worthless life but regret and hatred for myself and others." But as you have snown on many occasions the facts just interfere with reality to you. I may be in the minority here, but I hope the Saints ares embarassed, just to bring the Saints fans back down to reality about their team, as Its midnight Cinderella.. edit to clarify what I meant above. This post however just plain makes me sick! The reality we deal with on a daily basis is more than most human beings can handle, to be honest sometimes even more than I can handle. The Saints, and the way they have played this season have given us a much needed diversion from the harsh reality that is "being a New Orleanian". Go Saints!!! Hoping a team gets "humiliated" so as to bring the entire region it represents, which has suffered immeasurably over the last 16 months, back down to reality? Sports can lift an entire city....here is a part of our country (in which you live) that has gone through atrocities no human should ever have to endure, and you're gonna stand up and say you hope the Saints lose so they can essentially get back to dealing with life as they know it (reality), rather than continue to enjoy this welcomed distraction of football just a couple weeks longer? Dude, I always thought your bravado was just hype for the message boards, and that somewhere, you had at least one decent characteristic of a human being.....I'm not ashamed to admit I was wrong. Saints fans have had VERY little to cheer for for 40 years and they have one good season and you are saying they are going off the deep end....this comes from the "Sooner Nation" who has a history of championships and STILL does NOT know how to act. Act like you've been there before when you have a good season.....you need to look in the mirror about your fan base before you start calling others on to the mat!!! Can't wait till Texas beats ya'll down again for the 3rd year in a row... Even if the Saints lose.....it won't matter bra....the season has already exceeded our expectations...two more wins will be fun......but ALL gravy!!!
