Brewer
If it turns out that the police are looking for really bad strawman arguments, I'll have them give you a call. If it turns out that the police are just looking for really bad opinions, I'll have them give you a call.

Bill Swerski
"When they had a chance to go to the site, they discovered animal neglect," Surry County Administrator Tyrone Franklin. Franklin said that the dogs appeared to be hungry and forgotten. Both state and county investigators were searching the property Wednesday afternoon. Several animal control trucks were also on the scene and dog barking was audible. Good point. That's awful. Vick may not be a criminal thug in the mold of Lawrence Phillips, but he's become a full-fledged PR disaster.
Dutch Oven
I hope this doesn't make me a Vick apologist, but this report says it's property he owns, but does not reside at. Wasn't the search warrant for Tank Johnson also on property he owned but didn't reside at? That one didn't turn out too well.

I believe that was Tank's house. Both he and his friend's family live there. I'm not sure if Vick is legally-responsible for animal neglect on property that he owns, but on which somebody else resided. My guess is that he might be, given that he probably didn't have his cousin or whoever sign a rental agreement where he places liability on the tenant. But I don't know what the state/local laws are out there.

The Next Generation
Link Drug and dog fighting investigation at property owned by Michael Vick BY VERONICA GORLEY CHUFO Daily Press April 26, 2007, 4:05 PM EDT SURRY -- Property in Surry County owned by Atlanta Falcons quarterback and Newport News native Michael Vick was searched Wednesday as part of a State Police narcotics investigation -- and now there are allegations of dog fighting, too. Vick does not live there in the two-story brick house on a couple of acres, but his nephew does, State Police spokesman D.S. Carr said. Vick is not a suspect in the drug investigation, Carr said. After the State Police arrived at the Moonlight Road property, they called in Surry Animal Control. Dogs on the property appeared to be neglected, Surry County Administrator Tyrone Franklin said. The Humane Society of the United States said the dogs appeared to have broken limbs, scarring and other injuries consistent with dogfighting, said John Goodwin, the society's deputy manager of animal fighting issues. The society's director was on scene Wednesday and found 60 to 70 pitbulls. "We've been hearing for years about Michael Vick being involved in dogfighting," Goodwin said. Surry County officials could not be reached to confirm the dogfighting allegations. Both the state police and Animal Control investigations are ongoing. bushwacked
Yup, if that statement is accurate it speaks volumes of his unworthiness as a human being. Are you sure you don't live in CO? What is your point? Are you trying to act like a tough kid or something? I've harvested my fair share of birds and game over the years, but people who abuse domestic pets are pathetic. Not to mention these people also have an inclination to devalue human life.
Bill Swerski
I've harvested my fair share of birds and game over the years, but people who abuse domestic pets are pathetic. Especially dogs. Dogs are incredibly loyal to and trusting of their owners. How could somebody harm an animal that considers that person its master and trusts him/her with its life? Wild animals are completely different story. Edited April 26, 2007 by Bill Swerski
