darin3
Speculation out there that the Seahags are looking to add DE Jared Allen. Reports are the Vikes want a 2nd or a conditional 3rd. Dude is ancient, but still a monster and in a contract year. He would make that defense absolutely ridiculous. Or more ridiculous than it already is. As an Allen owner I welcome this move with open arms. He hasn't done jack for the Vikings this season. This would make Seattle a very, very tough playoff team. Very. wpayers
Perhaps another bidder...Broncos? Smokescreen. It won't happen. Maybe DEN sees SEA as their Superbowl opponent. Drive up the price? Bust Pete Carroll's stones? Edited October 29, 2013 by wpayers

Savage Beatings
Jared Allen has been my favorite Viking... he is a great player, a stand up dude, and a lot of fun to watch (on and off the field). Still, he won't be back in purple next year, so they should get ANYTHING that they can for him today. If they miss out on the opportunity to trade him for something because they were playing hard ball and asking for too much, then Spielman should be fired instantly. stevegrab
moot point - trade deadline has passed. Just checked NFL.com and they report the Eagles sent Sopoaga to NE (PHI also gives a 6th round pick and NE gives a 5th). Seems to be the extent of the last minute trading in the NFL, as usual no really big name players.

Don't they get a 3rd round compensatory pick? I doubt they will get more than that from any team.

End of 3rd is the highest they could get, but never bet on what comp round a player could get as it is a complicated and secret formula the NFL uses to determine comp picks. And it's another year being paid out anyway. They wouldn't get that pick until 2015 draft.
