Tatoo or no tatoo

So I'm a little buzzed as I type this and I'm on spring break in Orlando.

That's the preface...

I've always wanted a tatoo - I'm thinking all three of my boy's initials in a cool font on my right bicep/shoulder.

My wife HATES tatoos and i've always deferred.

Go for it anyway?

No man, the cool thing to do is get drunk and get a tattoo, everyones doing it!

I did this in Thailand. What made it worse is that I got it done at an old school shop. They used a bamboo needle with a ping hammer on my shoulder. Yeah getting drunk was smart....I bled like a stuck pig and the needle/hammer hurt worse than a mofo. To this day, I look at it and cringe.

Sex is good. Don't do it.

Answer: The Old Testament law commanded the Israelites, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28). So, even though believers today are not under the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15), the fact that there was a command against tattoos should cause us to question. The New Testament does not say anything about whether a believer should or should not get a tattoo.

In relation to tattoos and body piercings, a good test is to determine whether we can honestly, in good conscience, ask God to bless and use the particular activity for His own good purposes. "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31). The New Testament does not command against tattoos or body piercings, but it also does not give us any reason to believe God would have us get tattoos or body piercings.

And so it is written. Reverend Momomakers has spoken.

The time for your tatoo has passed. Think of things that might have been and accept things for what they are now. Your wife is wise... listen to her.

Good info here.
