I went with a buddy for the Raiders-Bucs superbowl and in 4 days I slept for a total of 4 hours, or should I say passed out for a total of 4 hours. I got more sleep on the plane ride home then I did the 4 days there. I am going next friday the 18th until Tues the 22nd for the APA 9 Ball Nationals at the Rivera. I was thinking probably Sat night. Most won't be going to the ESPN deal since you have to have tickets and it isn't all that impressive anyway. I will most likely give mine away. Friday should be the get together with WW and DMD so we don't want to do it then... and we have football and lots of people leaving on Sun. So I think my weekend will go something like this... Thursday - meet up with Huddlers at the Hawthorne, get dibs on small spot on the floor to sleep (read: 6'5 spot...). Drink. Friday - Lake Meade with H8 and company PM - meet up with DMD/WW. Drink. Saturday - draft PM - drink Sunday - watch all of my FF teams dominate in early season action. Drink. Did I miss anything? I will be hammered and more then likely broke when I get back I used to average 3-4 hours of sleep (Sky sleep) in Vegas until about 2 years ago. Hell, the newspaper used to be at my room's door before I got there! Not to mention the Mrs. was already getting up! Around 11 am one morning playing Video poker, I broke into a sweat, heart was beating like crazy, and I felt dizzy! I got some breakfast. NG! I toughed it out til about 2pm and it was getting worse. Went back to the room, couldn't sleep. The Mrs. walks in around 4pm and wants to know if she should call a Dr.! I was in bad shape. Mrs. said "Take a few aspirin.". Finally I nodded off for about an hour. I woke up & had a toddy. By 5:30pm I was fit as a fiddle. I now try to get at least 6 hours of sleep. It ain't just the lack of sleep, it's the mass quantities of AL. K Hall! Even if you don't get drunk! 12 hours of drinkin', drunk or not ain't good! If we have 8+ people willing to play and can all agree on the stakes, then most of the smaller rooms would be more than willing to accomodate us, and we could likely get a rake reduction or a switch to a time charge, so long as we took care of the dealers. To me, this is a much better option than buying in to one of the speed tourneys at the casinos. Surely there is a place we can get our own private game.... it's not like they aren't gonna make money off us. I will talk to crisp too. From Lenny @ WCOFF: The Thursday night part at the “Top of the Riv” starts at 4:30 pm. No charge and it’s open to any WCOFF participant and their guests. First 200 people get free drink tickets, and there will be cash food service. And we’ll have a 5th year anniversary cake at halftime! Please come celebrate with us, and catch up with old friends!
