so they've been doing this every sunday for however long, but it only gets to the point where something "has to be done" AFTER your friendship with them has taken a turn, the wives are feuding, etc.?

So am I. The old guy who lives next door to me needs to fix the retaining structure that stops his garden falling in to mine but despite me mentioning it three times, he hasn't done anything yet. My back fence is being pushed over right now, so the time for neighborly courtesy is drawing to a close.....

Allow me to continue to beat the dead horse:

Saturday's: 8 am

Sunday's: 9 am

Seems fair and reasonable to me. That's pretty much what everyone in the neighborhood adheres to, might even be a local law.

9:00 both days. 8 is too early.

8 on a Saturday isn't early. No way. All the landscapers start work at 8 on Saturdays as well, and now we're talking heavy equipment, not just a lawn mower.

The first house I owned, this concept of "other people sleeping" just hadn't clicked yet, and I mowed my lawn at 6:30 in the AM two Saturday mornings in a row. :bagoverhead:

I typically wait 'til the afternoon to let the morning moisture go away now anyway.

So it took two early mowings before the neighbors sabotaged the mower, eh?

Nope - neighbor came over and told me it woke them up, I got embarassed, apologized, and didn't do it again.
