First and last pick in the 1st round!! Sounds good!!! :D

This team has upgraded on the line with Steinbach and Thomas

Quinn even as a rook will be better than Frye

KWII and Edwards will be closer to 100 percent

Im not a fan of Jamal Lewis, but he's better than Droughns

Eric Wright will upgrade the secondary. Last year they won four games. All they've done is gotten better.

One last question... Why do you have them losing to the Bills? The lost Spikes, Clements, Fletcher, and McGahee... They put things in place to build upon, but they have a long way to go.

I think they should use one of those picks on a field goal holder.

:D OLD!!!

Wow!! and somebody said that the Brownies should have some success with their schedule this year. What were they blind?!? Dallas just might get the 1st overall!! :D

Even if that's the case, it's still a win-win situation for both of these teams. Cleveland got 2 top 5 talents THIS YEAR. No guearantee they'd get the best QB available next year so I think they did good by getting him a year early. They get the best tackle in the draft this year and that will do nothing but help them for years to come. Dallas now can end up with one great player next year and one very good player if they stand pat. They also have the option to trade both of those picks for the player they covet in 2008(McFadden?). I don't see anything wrong with what either of these teams did and that's probably the reason the deal got done in the first place.

Good luck with that prediction... every single postion on both sides of the ball has been either directly or indirectly upgraded and the Browns will be running the same Offense that was used in San Diego last year instead of having a playbook drawn in crayon.

Lets have a look shall we?

Direct upgrades, new players at new postions

LT - they drafted a rock in Joe Thomas

LG - they brought in a pro bowl calibur player with Steinbach

C- back from injury comes another pro bowl calibur player in Bentley

RG - they slide Tucker over to the position at which he won a super bowl playing in St. Lewis

RT - They move Shaffer over to his more natural position

These guys will feed off of one another and make one of the best OLines in the league with new coaching.

The entire OLine just got upgrade, the games are won in the trenchs.

FB - L. Vickers... was touted as the TOP FB in the draft in the 2005 draft, now getting his shot with a much improved team around him.

RE - They brought in a young man that 3 years ago AND 2 years ago each, under the same DCoordinator in the same scheme had 100+ tackles on a lesser team with less talented teammates. Last year had 70 plus tackles for a system he doesn't fit into. His name is Robaire Smith.

NT - The brought in a big, strong, bulky player that the Bungles used in obvious run situations that did very well when he played. He wasn't an every down player in Cinci because he lacked the speed required for the Cincy 4-3. The 3-4 is the exact opposite. The NT job is not to shoot gaps and make plays in the backfield as it is with the 4-3. His job will be to take up space, command double teams, and open rushing lanes for the best set of LBs in the league to make the big plays.

LE - Last years projected starter O. Roye, while not spectacular, was injured all year long and will be back this year and is an upgrade to the scrub that started in 06.

Once again, the games are won and lost in the trenchs.

Indirect upgrades, positions that got better because of the direct upgrades

WR 1 - B. Edwards, a player that was taken #3 overall and was showing why in year 1 when he went down with an ACL. He is now 1 year removed from that injury, entering his 3rd season, and will have an upgraded franchise QB with an upgraded OLine giving him time tossing the ball to him and a running game that actually demands respect. Also don't underestimate the importance of the new Offensive coaching. Can you say BREAKOUT PLAYER?

WR 2 - J. Jurvicious, same reasons as Edwards with the new QB, Line, Running Game, and Coaching.

TE - K. Winslow, See Edwards above.

OLB - K. Wimbley, was a stud as a rookie now has big, strong, DLinemen in front of him to create more rushing lanes for him to create havok in the backfield and ruin opposing QBs day.

ILB - A. Davis, always productive, but now, much like Wimbley, has help upfront to give him more opportunities to make plays.

ILB - D. Jackson, had 100 Plus tackles as a rookie, now has the upfront help to free him even more.

LCB - L. Bodden, a very respectible and productive season, but gave up plays when opposing QBs had all day to throw and WRs had all day to get open. Not happening this year, big plays will be made.

SS - S. Jones, an already pro bowl calibur player now will have a distressed qb throwing balls to unprepared WRs, he will be a ball hawk and a nightmare for other WRs.

The Double Whammy Direct AND Indirect upgrades

RB - J. Lewis, yet another probowl calibur player, still pretty young at 27, played hurt the last couple of hears so his value dropped. Has a Baltimore sized chip on his shoulder and is playing for a contract. Is completely healthy and has the above mentioned line in front of him.

QB - B. Quinn, comes into the league NFL ready, or at least very close, a definite upgrade over Frye. But at the same time has these tools to use that Frye never had. A super line in front of him, has a pro bowl RB behind him, and has healthy weapons in Edwards and Winslow to throw to, and a real offensive playbook and coaching.

OLB - Much like R. Smith, A. Peek had very good years under the Browns current DCoordinator, with a lesser team and lesser team mates surrounding hiim. With that improved line and the upgrade at the position, he will be a nightmare in the backfield all day long.

RCB - A round 1 talent was drafted this year by the name of E. Wright. He was the most talented CB in the draft and will turn into a shut down corner. He only slid to round 2 because of PERCEIVED off field issues. It was a one time incident. He was cleared of all charges, and was completely clean before and has been since. Also will reap the rewards of facing pressured QBs and WRs that just don't have time to get open.

F Safety - They let a good one go in Russell to make room for the younger, more athletic, playmaking early 2005 draft pick that B. Poole that will also have the benefit of a pressured QB and WRs without time to make plays.

With these upgrades, the Browns have also added a LOT of depth (something that sorely hurt them last year and led to a lot of late losses in close games.) Guys like

McGinest

Washington

Leon Williams

C. Frye

Fraley

Adams

McDonald

Baxter

Holly

McKinney

Sowells

Butler

Holly

Most of these guys were either hurt, starting for the Browns, or on other teams last year. They cut McCoutchen, obviously he was replaced. Lost Russell and he has been replaced. They lost Dennis Northcut, a punt return man, and replaced him in the draft. Cut T. Smith, replaced by Vickers.

They have done all of these things while EVERY other team in the division has suffered significant losses and a LOT of them.

Good Luck with that #1 pick, this team will win 9 or 10 games.

Not sure what is more pathetic KState trying to make this draft look better because of what we'll get back next year or dude who thinks the Browns are going 10-6. :D

I'll help you the guy who thinks the Browns will be 10-6. EASY!!!

Was the Trade REALLY that bad???? Think about it.

We gave up an early round 2 pick this year for the PRIVLEDGE of using our 08 round 1 right now. In the process we gained our Franchise QB whom will have a year of experience under his belt by the time we would have gotten to use the pick next season in a draft that is QB weak.

I'm not a Brady Quinn fan. From that perspective, it's a bird in the hand argument. Will a better QB be there early next year the Browns could have taken? I don't know. Neither do the Browns. I see it as a good trade seeing as they were projected in most mocks to take Quinn #3. If you are a Cleveland fan and believe in Brady Quinn it had to be a great weekend. I'm certainly glad the Cowboys passed on him.

My gripe is really with the Cowboys and certainly not for making the trade, from the prespective they moved down 4 spots for what WILL be a top 10 pick next year, they made out like a bandit. I'm just disappointed with the underwhelming nature of the draft. Mr. Jones said we weren't drafting for need this year. That gave me the impression we might draft an impact player. Hope I'm wrong about Spencer. He's an NFL tweener who I heard nothing about going into the draft. Given the lack of pass rush last year, that smells of drafting for need to me.
