BigMikeinNY
Well the wife and I were supposed to go on our honeymoon to Cancun, but a little hurricane named Dean sort of got in our way. So instead of flying into a hurricane, we hopped in the car and drove 14 hours to Myrtle Beach, SC and spent a week there. On our travels and a week that I spent in SC I learned a few things. 1. People in the South are very polite and kind. Whether I was buying something at the store or at the beach, people are relaxed and actually want to talk and have conversation. 2. I dont think Virginia, North Carolina, or South Carolina has a police force. I and about three hundred other people went 95 mph down route I-95 and did not see one police car/trooper on the side of the road the entire trip. 3. $29.99 all you can eat seafood buffets are greatest thing I have ever been a part of. Although it wasn't Cancun, my wife and I had a very great time in these Southern States. We have one year to go back to Cancun, so I am deff. not missing out on Mexico. The #1 reason I can't get comfortable below the Mason-Dixon line. . . complete strangers just loooove to start up conversations. It creeps me out. spain
Please dont tell any of your Yankee friends how great it is down here. We are already inundated with carpetbaggers. And they are like Mexicans, once they come down here, they never go home.

Jumbie
Long ago, when I wasn't old and somewhat pudgy, I remember meeting a girl in a bar in the south. All I could think to say was, "heck, nice tooth." That's all I have to say about that.

Sorry to hear. 1. People in the South are very polite and kind. Whether I was buying something at the store or at the beach, people are relaxed and actually want to talk and have conversation. I don't think they are all that polite. I mean yes they are polite but it is just that you are used to the New York people and that scews your outlook. 2. I dont think Virginia, North Carolina, or South Carolina has a police force. I and about three hundred other people went 95 mph down route I-95 and did not see one police car/trooper on the side of the road the entire trip. I seen plenty at the end of July. And no way could you do 95 on 95 the two weekends I was there. I hate that road. 3. $29.99 all you can eat seafood buffets are greatest thing I have ever been a part of. Just wondering what place this was? Although it wasn't Cancun, my wife and I had a very great time in these Southern States. We have one year to go back to Cancun, so I am deff. not missing out on Mexico. BigMike Glad you guys had fun. I very much enjoy myself down there and make it there about two to three times a year. I could see myself living down there when I get older.
Ursa Majoris
Nice town. Beautiful falls right in the middle of the city. No idea. I was there switching out a server and the lady at the project site asked if I wanted to go and have several beers with her and a bunch of her friends. Now every time I hear Seven Bridges Road I think of drunken caterwauling rednecks.

HowboutthemCowboys
I'm with Skippy. Was down that way a couple weeks ago and was lucky to do 35 from D.C. area to freakin' Richmond. Same crap on the way back.
BigMikeinNY
Hey Skippy I believe it was Benjamin's Calabash we ate the $29.99 seafood buffet. Best crab legs my wife has ever had. Yea, we we would go about 95 mph down Interstate 95 and then sit in frozen traffic for 2 hours in Baltimore and Richmond I believe, was horrible!
