coachharry
Now NE fans are officially as arrogant as Dallas fans That's a load of crap. You can't take someone's nickname. The Cowboys earned that, and it was more than just their winning ways. They were one of the first football team celebrities. They came up with the idea of marketing a team nationwide, selling gear, cheerleaders.... There will be no other Steel Curtain, unless it's a Steelers team, no other Doomsday Defense, unless its a Cowboys team. Monster's of the Midway.... the list goes on. It's just like other teams trying to steal the 12th man moniker, something invented and owned by Texas A&M. New England is a great team with lots of talent, come up with your own nickname. St. Louis already had the Greatest Show on Turf, think of something, please.
MTSuper7
Considering there are 32 teams in America, the idea that any one team deserves this nickname is ridiculous IMO.

St. Louis already had the Greatest Show on Turf, think of something, please. Just to clarify, it was Adam Shepter (sp) of the NFL network who came up with the name......not the team or fans. I agree with the argument though. We can compare the teams (Dallas and STL) but shouldn't just take the name....unless they continue on this stretch for a few more seasons..... isleseeya
America's team should be smack dab in the middle of the United States ( geography is it important ) ...with that said closest team that fits the bill is Kansas City Chiefs ( plus Chiefs signify American Indians , who happened to be the first people in America ) So Chiefs it is ..case closed

IIRC, both the Bears and the Bills tried to adopt the "12th Man" title in the past, but dropped it after they were threatened with lawsuits by A&M. The geographical center of all 50 states is located 17 miles west of Castle Rock, South Dakota. The geodetic center of the U.S. is found approximately 42 miles south of Lebanon, Kansas. However, I would think that bears were here before Indian Chiefs.
