What do I get for a mom...

This will be my wife's first Mother's Day this Sunday. (Mother's Day is this Sunday guys in case you forgot)

Well my little girl, 6 weeks old, and her dad have to get something for mommy. I honestly don't know what to get her

She has a birthday and our anniversary on each side of Mother's Day (yea, I cannot wait to do that for the next 50 years) so she has already received Broadway tickets and will be getting jewelry within the next few weeks......

So what the heck does I guy like BigMike do?

We are recently married so most of the stuff in our house is brand new. She has way to much of the following:

Shoes

Perfume

Clothes

Bath and Body Works stuff

I've done the whole spa thing, she didnt like it.

Any helpful hints or ideas pointing me in the right direction are greatfully appreciated!!

You need to get her something from your little girl.

Get some construction paper and some paints that kids paint with that are non-toxic and washable. Make a card for your wife from your daughter, and put your daughter's hand in the paint and put her hand print on the card.

Trust me: this is all your wife needs.

My wife likes the small, thoughtful stuff. So this year we're doing the given...a nice lunch after church, flowers, card, etc. But the real gift is I had some of her favorite pictures of our 20 month old framed for her office. And I'll probably sex her up big time Sunday night...but that's probably my present more than hers.

This is an excellent idea.

Note: I did this as a gift from our one-year-old daughter on Mothers Day and ended up getting laid every day for three weeks straight.

Not sure if you're wife would dig it as much as mine (since we have four kids), but she told me the other day that one thing she wants: a day off.

No laundry, breakfast/lunch/dinner taken care of, no kids to get up with, no cleaning....just a brain-dead day for her to do as she pleases. She never gets one of those anymore. Get her nails done, shopping alone, reading a book, some uninterupted Lifetime TV....she can't wait.

A couple years ago, I paid for a company to come in an clean the house from roof to basement....not a typical weekly cleaning job, but a double-time, fiver-person crew that scrubebd every nook in every corner, every chandelier, pulled out every appliance....spotless. Cost a pretty penny, but she was never prouder of our crib, and going forward, it made cleaning much easier since she wasn't playing catch-up. She really dug this.

Oh shizz. I'm an IDIOT!

I helped my wife put together mother's day presents for my mom and her mom and all the grandmothers and mail them out, and I'm sitting here like an idiot totally forgetting that SHE'S A MOTHER!

I better hit the jewelry store quick. God, I am stupid.

Hit her jewelry box first and try and find a piece that she hasn't worn in a long time. Hopefully, she won't remember that you already gave it to her 8 years ago like "my friend".

My wife is getting this necklace, these earrings, and some custom Jude Frances heart shaped charms that hang from the earrings. I bought them at a charity auction this last weekend.

Man, you're rich.

(note to self: be nice to perch)

I didn't pay that much for them. I got them at a charity auction, and only had two guys bid on them other than me. She will have a nice mothers day present. For our annaversary she will probably end up with a romantic new radar detector.

Chief, I decided to go with the Foot Print. Bought some kids finger paint at the store........My wife cried when she opened the card and saw our 7 week old daughter's foot print(s) on the inside. Thanks for the great idea man, appreciate it!

I did the handprint and footprint thing. I bought 4 5x5 canvases and painted each red, yellow, blue, and green. I then put a white handprint on 2 (left and right) and a white footprint (left and right) on the other two.
