BeeR
Never heard of that one. Really most of what I can think of is pop or funk etc (eg Wild Cherry). And how could I forget: Piero Umiliani 's classic Muppet Tune "Mah na mah na"

muck
All of this 1980s music led me to pull up an endless stream of Sade videos on youtube ... that is one fine woman. Sade is the female version of Barry White (except she's really REALLY nice to look at). ...sorry for the sidebar...

skylive5
Don't count him either, although again depends what you mean by "hit." He had "Starry starry night" and "Cryin" *sigh* It is called "Vincent". And I forgot about Crying. McClean is far from a one-hit-wonder. untateve
Who doesn't love Brownsville Station? (Spoken) How you doin' out there? Y'ever seem to have one of those days where it just seems like everybody's gettin' on your case, from your teacher all the way down to your best girlfriend? Well, y'know, I used to have 'em just about all the time. But I found a way to get out of 'em. Let me tell you about it! (Sung) Sitting in the classroom Thinking it's a drag Listening to the teacher rap Just ain't my bag The noon bells ring You know that's my cue I'm gonna meet the boys On floor number two! Smokin' in the boys' room Smokin' in the boys' room Now, teacher, don't you fill me up with your rules But everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school. Chavez
Did Joan Osbourne ever do anything worth mentioning other than "One of Us"? I recall "Right Hand Man" getting some airplay. WAAAAAAAAAY f'in better than the lame hit she had.

BeeR
While I personally love that song it isn't Rock or Rock n Roll. MIght as well give up on that since people are listing tons of flaming non-rock hits...I think we've blown by that This? no......maybe it wasn't them...I know the song but not the name, didn't have a catch refrain/etc. If I find I'll post. And to be fair, probably shouldn't have mentioned that either, as not really rock n roll, come to think of it All of this 1980s music led me to pull up an endless stream of Sade videos on youtube ... that is one fine woman. Sade is the female version of Barry White You've got scary tastes.
skylive5
There are some interesting songs out there that are actual one hit wonders.... songs that you hear on "oldies" stations and such: Fendermen - Mule Skinner Blues The Hollywood Argyles - Alley Oop Spirit In The Sky and In The Summertime already mentioned Les Crane - The Desiderata Brewer & Shipley - One Toke Over The Line Argent - Hold Your Head Up Hot Butter - Popcorn to name a few ... and along with the good-time In The Summertime probably one of the best of the bunch.... Louden Wainwright III - Dead Skunk The problem in picking out a one hit wonder is that because of the success of the 1st one a 2nd one sometimes makes it into the top 40 ... no matter how bad it may be. TimC
Pops open WMP... Kajagoogoo - Too Shy - aka how my hair looked in 1983. Marillion - Kayleigh - they were big in the UK, but don't recall another "hit" in the US. Jane Child - Don't Wanna Fall in Love - aka how Squeegie wore her hair in 1983. You people are waaaaay too white Xavion - Eat Your Heart Out - Good album no one knew about. Al B Sure - Night and Day - Super smooth. Rockwell - Who's Watching Me - Classic one hit wonder. Son of Barry Gordy with not much talent. Get MJ to sing back-up and voila. But the #1 one hit wonder not yet mentioned.... - Greatest evah. Nuff said.
