TimC
I had a 1987 Firebird with T-Tops (for the mullet ) -- my first and only brand new car I've ever bought. Of course, the engine blew at around 3,000 miles so I got one of those Pontiac Fiero's with the V6 in it as a loaner car for a couple of weeks. Gawd, that car rocked. It was awesome, but completely useless for anything other than having fun in it. I'm 6 feet and could barely fit in it, but big fun once anyone over 5 feet 3 inches could squeeze into it. I had it up until just a few years ago when I lent it to my neice while her car was in the shop and she totalled it. I was gonna restore it since I only drove it about 20 miles a year. Oh yes, one day I'll have me a Black Trans Am with the gold chicken on the hood. That should be #1 on any Pontiac list. Azazello1313
from another cnn.money article... NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- General Motors announced plans Monday to cut 23,000 U.S. jobs by 2011, drop its storied Pontiac brand and slash 40% of its dealer network in its latest bid to stay out of bankruptcy. The new restructuring proposal will leave the Treasury Department, and thus U.S. taxpayers, owning a significant stake in GM. Treasury would accept GM stock, rather than cash, for repayment of about $10 billion that the government has already lent to GM. Trust funds controlled by the United Auto Workers union would also hold a significant stake in the company. Between them, Treasury and the unions would own 89% of GM. so now GM officially will be owned by the government, and the UAW. awesome, I'm sure we can really count on them to make some great cars now. Yeah, I fear that now GM is going to start to suck or something. The last Socialistic Government in the car business brought us the Volkswagon Bug and look at how successful that was. It was the best selling car in history over a production run of 60 years?

TimC
It was the best selling car in history over a production run of 60 years? I said you see how successful it was. Probably top 3 of the most successful cars in automotive history proving Socialism works. After the Feds take over GM and Ford, I hope they invade Poland. Perchoutofwater
First the banks now the car companies, more expansive government, next nationalized medicine. Just the kind of change I feared during the campiagn. Hey, we've thrown away the capitalism, our future, and our kids future, but at least we had a historic election and elected a black president to prove how far we've come. Too bad we so many were so hiped about the histroy of it all that they failed to look at the mans history and the people he was associated with. Jimmy Neutron
The Ten Greatest Pontiacs I think not. The length of that list should be exactly 2 - the GTO and a very distant 2nd Trans Am.
