BeeR
OK so explain to me Caldwell's brilliant logic of playing Manning as far as he did........THEN pulling him. Either play him or don't. If you don't care about the game, why did he play at all?
3xcrazy
Who knows. Play him whole game

budlitebrad
Way to end the season strong. Play scared and piss off all the fans and players. That'll help you in the playoffs. Edited December 27, 2009 by budlitebrad

Jastrmerel
How long did Manning play? Wayne still in there?
whomper
This really blows for Colts fans if they do end up losing this game. The Saints Legitimately lost last week with all of their starters in. This is a terrible way to lose a perfect season.
Czarina
I would think the Colts starters would be a little ticked too, knowing how close they came. No way they should really lose to the Jets. It would have been hypocritical for them to bring Manning back in though.

On one hand it's a good problem to have, and I know how fortunate we are to have a winning team, but this is the number 1 thing that sucks being a Colts fan. Cunning Runt
Way to end the season strong. Play scared and piss off all the fans and players. That'll help you in the playoffs. Was at the game and the crowd was NOT pleased when Painter came in up 15-10. Turnover for a defensive TD on the first possession. How many times have the Colts gotten boo'd at home this year? f'ing pisses me off.

Rovers
If the Colts left their starters in, the Jets lose by 10 to 14 points.
ebartender
If the Colts left their starters in, the Jets lose by 10 to 14 points. ...and I win my championship.
RaiderSteve
Any body notice that when the Colts took all their starters out they looked like the Raiders with all their starters in. Just a pathetic way to end my fantasy championships. Had Manning in idp (lost) had Wayne in auction (winning but might still lose) and

hezagenius
At least Mercury Morris can stop flapping his gums now and fade back into Bolivion with Mike Tyson.
cdrudge
I'm looking on the positive side. At least we didn't lose to Tampa Bay.
Rovers
How is this for irony? Speaking from a Jets fan perspective: I benched the Jets D for Houston. Afraid the Colts would try to win today. The Jets "won", fine. If I had started the Jets D, I likely win my keeper league title. At least my benching of Wayne worked out, but geeze. Like sweet and sour soup... or piss and vinegar, or something.
heydave76
I was thoroughly disgusted they totally gave up on a perfect season. Even if the Colts win the Super Bowl I feel it diminishes it. If they lost fighting for it, at least you would feel it just wasn't meant to be. Now, if they win, you'll always think that they could have been undefeated. How many times do you think of what could have been after you win a Super Bowl, but I'll definitely have a little of that if it plays out that way. I don't really see them even winning a playoff game though.

heydave76
and people bitchd 2years ago when the Patriots kept the pedal to the metal the ENTIRE regular season...pff I don't think people were upset they played out the whole season. It was still playing all out late in blowout games. I certainly had no problem with them going for the perfect season, even though I rooted against them. CaptainHook
That was a waste of a Sunday afternoon. Nothing like watching pre-season football in December.
Czarina
I thought the whole thing was strange until I read that Manning stayed in until he made his person achievement mark of 50k yards passing. Then it made me angry. I hate it when personal achievements are put above the needs of the team. Either he should be playing or not. What if he'd been hurt during that time they left him in just to make his yardage? Blah.

The Colts PTB obviously lack that mentality and the disgust showed on the players faces. This is NOT the time of year you wanna be playing soft. When I saw the 50K passing flashed on the screen I felt the same way Czarina did. That was bush......I smell trouble coming for the Colts.
