Primetime9287
Just saw it on Sportscenter MNF Edition. I don't know much about this guy besides he played at Auburn. Should be an interesting switch... (KFFL) ESPNews reports the Washington Redskins have named QB Jason Campbell their starting quarterback for Week 11. Campbell will replace QB Mark Brunell in the lineup this week. Edited November 13, 2006 by Primetime9287

Big John
Edit: And I realize I didn't hit the "p" key for Campbell. title fixed
kpholmes
Glad to finally see him get a chance. He had a hell of a run at Auburn with Ronnie and Cadillac in the backfield... He's gonna have a rough few weeks with out Portis...

rhippens
i'm curious as well. i have him in 2 dynasty leagues and picked him because i had heard good things about his potential. i guess no we'll really learn what he has. anybody think they have any insight on his long term value? i'm not much of a judge because i didn't seem him play that much in college. jaxfactor
Yep. Watching Gibb's press conference as I speak and he just named Campbell #1, Brunell #2. I might take a flyer on him in my TD league. We keep 3 QBs on our rosters.

Bill Swerski
That too. I actually drafted them as my backup DT.

Saw him play a couple of games in college, strong arm, pretty accurate, seems to have above average intelligence, can move out the pocket. did pretty good against LSU the time I saw him live and that's when their D was outstanding. been waiting for him to play also. Now if he can play up to NFL speed and survive their blitzes and read NFL defenses only time will tell.

I'd imagine he's going to get slaughtered to start off with, but if Gibbs sticks with him longer than he did Ramsey I think he'll be pretty good. Savage Beatings
With Portis going down and me having to start Betts in one of my money leagues, I'm actually kinda glad to hear this... maybe it will give Betts a more prominent role on the offense than he would have had under Brunell. FishFreak
Better late than never. I've been wondering all season if Gibbs was just being stubborn sticking with his vet Brunell or if Jason Campbell just isn't ready. He better be ready otherwise they will have to draft another QB or acquire one thru free agency. Hello Matt Schaub if Campbell doesn't show anything. seabronc
Did Campbell throw to a TE much in college? Seems like Cooley should remain a strong target, while the rest of the passing game goes even lower than before.
theeohiostate
I thought he was the best looking QB in the draft. Alex Smith and A.Rogers got the hype, but this kid will be better, imo.

johnnyfb
The 'Skins are simply feeding their young to the fire. They have a porous O-Line, an overrated backup RB, and no defensive support. Why throw a rookie out there? To get him "battle-tested"? Bullcrap. This seems like a way to appease the fans, but it could stunt whatever recovery could be brewing in Washington for years to come. Yeah don't own him. He plays for the redskins. Which means over the next 5 years he will: 1. Throw for more Ints than TDs 2. Prolly get benched in week 3 of next season for some other QB that we draft in the up coming 2007 NFL draft after we trade away all of our draft picks for 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and the entire DC area gives up their 1st born children to get a pick in the 3rd round. 3. Most likely start 2 games this year and die just because we are the worst ever team in the history of the NFL after the re-alignment. 4. Do really well and get bench for Warren Moon coming out of retirement to lead the skins back to their glory days. 5. Get traded for another white safety that we pay 30million for and does nothing. 6. Follow the rest of the team and get arrested I wouldn't touch a redskins player with Spain's d1ck.

I think it is the right thing to do..the Redskin season is officially over..may as well see what the kid can do. I am not his biggest fan..but I do have him on my rookie squad in 1 league ,so will be rooting for him.
