Draft day snafu

We almost had a situation at my local draft today. I was picking at 5.1 and posted Adrian Peterson as my second RB. Later in the round, an owner noticed that the Adrian Peterson, RB, MIN sticker was still on the sheet. I had grabbed the Chicago AP sticker by mistake. As you can I imagine, I received a (well-deserved) load of sh*t about my mistake. What surprised was that several owners felt I should've been stuck with the Chicago back. What say yous?

I try very hard not play in leagues with anyone that is not smart enough to see that that move was a mistake. Since it was an obvious mistake then no way does anyone bitch for real and expect you to be stuck. Just my .02 but I would take close notice of anyone that honestly wanted you to have to stick to AP from Chicago and I would stick it in their ass first chance you get.

Agree with the other fellas who posted in here. Those that thought you should've kept the Chi RB are nothing but a bunch of d1ckheads. It was an honest mistake but I'd be busting your chops a bit as well.

I had one happen like that in my local league last year but it was a bit different. First week of the season and it's Sunday morning before the games start and one of the newbie owners in the league (happens to be my sister's fiance' - she asked that he been accepted into the league  ) drops S Smith from his team along with a couple other players and adds a couple as well thinking that he was pulling those players out of his lineup and putting the others he just picked up into his lineup. He was so confused with how it all worked. Well of course one of the other owners sees this and immediately picks up S Smith. I call the newbie owner and asked him what he was doing with his team and he says, "I just put my lineup in." :D I inform him that he just dropped one of, if not the best WR not only on his team but in the league/NFL from his team and added some scrub. He was like  I didn't even realize what I did. Then I told him about another owner picking Smith up. In the end all was reversed but the other owner was pissed and still hasn't let it go. Meanwhile the pissed owner was a newbie like 3 years before that and made several similar mistakes, which I fixed. I reminded him of those. :D

Yep. I'll second this response. Dick move if they made you keep the wrong guy.

We were drafting from the 2nd hole last year at WCOFF, called out Ladainian Tomlinson, little model draft board girl pulled off the Labrandon Toefield sticker and started to put it on the board... such a shame to lose someone at such a young age.

:D:D If you guys didn't lynch her, she would've hung herself any way after the verbal thrashing you all put her through.

I was in a league a few years ago, the year after ricky williams had his monster year and he was ranked 3rd or 4th on most draft boards. Well, the guy who picked 4th grabbed ricky williams from Indy, and the guys actually felt he should live with it. After a league vote he had to keep the wrong ricky. needless to say, that league collapsed a few years after, and never was the same. Greedy people suck!

Man, if that happened to me I would have walked out on that league right then and there.

I couldn't say it any better than that.
