I think that is the main reason for the rallies, to try to get the politicians in congress to keep it from happening. If there is large enough turn out, it will make some politicians reconsider voting on adding even more to the largest deficit and debt we have ever seen. It's called being proactive.

WOW. Who's head is in the sand?

Here are the words of the biggest cheerleader of this dreck: Glenn Beck.

You can’t convince me that the Founding Fathers wouldn’t allow you to secede.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact, and if a state says: ‘I don’t want to go there, because that’s suicide, they have a right to back out. They have a right — people have a right to not commit economic suicide...

...Texas says go to hell, Washington, which by the way has been said before. I believe it was Davey Crocket...it’s about time that somebody says that again."

Good luck with that! It certainly didn't work before, and won't now.

not to the level of 5% of GDP, which is where the CBO projects obama's budgets will get us even years down the line long AFTER an assumed recovery.

Give a pop quiz at any of these rallies, and that answer won't be given 10% of the time.

If lefties try to start a revolution to overthrow the government, I will put a f'ing bullet through their heads too.

i guess my point is that lefty protestors are usually jobless, welfare getting, young people that are protesting for more handouts and getting more of whats not theirs. those on right are usually protesting to keep more of what is theirs.

Pretty sure I will take my son with me to the one in St. Paul. I want him to witness either the last breath of liberty or the first spark of revolution.

You have gone off the deep end. Seriously.

Ok, maybe I'm using a bit of hyperbole, but I'm just fired up is all.

It's funny that you libs just can't stand the idea of conservatives actually voicing opposition to your precious Socialist utopia. Only libs are supposed to protest stuff, right? Conservatives are just supposed to sit quietly in the suburbs and keep paying more and more without question. Well guess what? You've awakened a sleeping giant.

No SB - the double standard is what's laughable. "Lefties" go to anti war rallies to...protest war.

Today there is a Tea party Day that will be attended by folks who...just received a tax cut. Railing about things that...have been happening for the past 25 years.

I don't have problems with Republican rallies (democratic responses make this country tick) but this is a thinly veiled approach that people attending are talking revolution over. You, perch have already alluded to it. You're backing off now, how soon til perch does?

So today we can count unemployed republicans. Little more comes out of it. I hope the crowds are small, which means people are out making things happen, as opposed to inciting violence.

Talk of breaking the union of states is not "voicing opposition". Want to protest, fine. Want to break apart America? F you.

I think this will go a long way to show the Democrats have cemented the majority of voters for a good long time.

As for the tea-parties--I'm a big fan of "grass-roots" protests organized by billionaires. :D

+1

Don't forget the organizing assist from Fox News and right wing radio.

There's nothing grass roots about this. I just hope this leads the "real American pro-American" types to the start of the draft Sarah Palin for 2012 movement. I've been listening a bit to the local right wing talk radio station and it's pretty hilarious with the whining about how the left is going to try to marginalize their protest. Pretty freaking ironic given the past few years.

I'm concerned about long term fiscal issues in this country too. But trying to stoke people's fears for a political agenda is something that has a well documented history as the hate mongers throughout the years have shown.

Nevermind that this Admin did pass the largest tax cut in US history. Nevermind that it is forced to resort to Keynesian spending to try stimulate the economy. Nevermind that Obama has said we need to make significant changes to entitlements to get our financial house in order. Nevermind that he's only 3 months into office and has to put out the fire first before he can remodel the house.

Our first spies crossed the Potomoc this morning into DC and Maryland. They report, "This water's cold...and it's deep too." Then, we lost reception. I'll bet those bass turds forgot to hold their breath.

1...cause we can't count to 2.

We've lost most of our guys going after Obama. Gawd-danged Ted Danson in blackface ain't gonna fool us again.
