biggamer3
i am so happy we got Moss. Eli now has two legitamate deepthreats with Plaxico and Sinorice. great pick in round 2, though i am not sure if passing up on jackson at 32 was very smart. Robash
allthough watching a DE being drafted by the giants in the first kind of shocked me...it doesnt look to bad when you listen to how they plan on using him. and hopefully moss pans out better than the last few wr's they have drafted
Front Row
Ernie Accorsi 's the bombdiggety GM !! 1st Round: DE Mathias Kiwanuka, Boston College 2nd Round: WR Sinorice Moss, University of Miami 3rd Round: LB Gerris Wilkinson, Georgia Tech Edited April 30, 2006 by Front Row

Giants56
I'm happy we added a WR. If we use him correctly he could be dynamic. I wasn't in love with Chad Jackson, I was much higher on Santonio Holmes, but Moss will be very helpful. DE in the 1st did perplex me a little as I thought they had high hopes for Tuck, but apparently not. I know nothing about the LB they took. I'm sure they will take a CB with one of their 4ths. Swiss Cheezhead
Yeah, I thought they liked Tuck a lot, too. Hey, Robash -- what did you mean "if you listen to how they will use him"? I didn't hear anything about it.
Los Gigantes
tuck wa smoved to dt on quite few plays last year... maybe they plan on bulking him up, ro maybe they aren't that high on him. All I know is giants pass rush will be awsome next year.

Unless they all of a sudden think Tuck is garbage but, I have heard nothing to that effect. Really the opposite. I may take some heat for posting this but, I was kinda hoping Williams or White would have been considered. I like Jacobs for short yardage but thought Williams would have been a nice pick-up. Who knows how long Tiki is in this for. He could be going after this year. I just don't know.

I really thought Ryans would be the pick but Kiwanuka must have been the top player on their board. Tuck did move to DT but out of necessity only I believe. Maybe they'll move him there but I believe pass rush is his strength and they just took a DT in the 4th. Thinking Tuck or Kiwanuka are going to be standing up a lot on passing downs. Dirty Sanchez
DE was a surprise in the 1st round, but Strahan doesn't have too much time left and I like the fact that Kiwanuka will be able to learn from him before he retires. Accorsi said he was the top rated player on the Giants board. So, I'm not too disappointed since I think you need to pick the best available talent in the first few rounds rather than draft for need. Getting Moss in the 2nd round made up for whatever doubts I have about the 1st round pick. I would have been happy to see him as the 1st round pick. He fills a glaring need as a speedy 3rd WR. The Giants offense now has great players at all skill positions.
Giants56
It sound like the OT we took could develop too, ...but what an awful name for an O-lineman; Guy Whimper

I didn't hear anything about it. 1444839[/snapback] ill have to find the link....went through about 4 trillion links yesterday. basically coughlin mentioned rotating him in, not so much to the point where he is going to steal significant playing time but he said having osi, mike, tuck and mathias all in on a passing down is a definate possibility...which like Los G said, would be sick pretty sounds like the gmen will get pretty creative this year on def, should be fun to watch...from a giants perspective anyways ;P
piratesownninjas
Very good pick for the Giants... A receiver who is a deep threat and has heart...

biggamer3
guys how cool will the names of our starting DE's in two years be. "Kiwanuka and Umenyoura combine on the sack." just a stupid thought of mine
Seahawks21
I still don't get it. I followed the Giants somewhat closely last year, and I thought DE, along with QB & TE, were the only positions the Giants didn't need improved depth at. A bit off the subject but this has got to be a pretty significant boost to Eli's keeper status.
policyvote
If dude's last name weren't Moss he'd be lucky to get drafted.
hosler427
I loved the Moss pick. I was hoping they would take him at 25 actually...I think he will fit in really well. He is the kind of receiver the Giants need. As far as the DE...I was pissed at first but like everyone said Strahan is getting up there and to learn from him will be priceless. I think it was a good draft overall.
Bree22
I was a little disappointted that we didn't take Chad or Jimmy Williams their at 32. I felt that was our biggest needs and they seemed to also be the best available talent left at that time. Shoot, Chad runs as fast if not faster then moss and he has 4 inches on him. I thought Chad has good to decent hands compared to Moss? Personally, I would've loved to have taken Jimmy Williams thier and then get Moss. As for taking a backup for Strahan, I thought a backup for Tiki is and was more important. We could've taken DeAngleo Williams at 25. We already had Tuck and Tiki is talking about possible retiring after this year where Strahan sounded like he wants to try and play 2 more years. As for 3rd & long I think you can see a 5 man rush of Strahan, Osi, Tuck, Arrington and Kiw. I give the QB 3.5 secs to complete a pass and duck.
