Yukon Cornelius
Female - Annie LennoxMale - Freddie Mercury 1447332 Both of these singers have (had) amazing range! Very talented and impossible to duplicate voices. 1447349

Easy n Dirty
That Arab. Cat Stevens. 1447542 Good call, I like the Cat too, although he's certainly made some strange choices in life. I saw a special on him a couple years ago, he's basically sworn off the guitar now, the only music he'll play or listen to now is percussion. But then in the interview he proceeded to do a rendition of Peace Train accompanied only by his hands slapping his thighs for percussion. Great stuff. jerry 1447910 Hear, hear. Oughta' go over well with this crowd.

bushwacked
So nobody else likes Tool's front guy as much as me? He has arguably the best voice for rock. 1447869 Maynard's voice fits perfectly for their style of music. That guy is the hyena of hyena's, you shouldn't have him as your avy. SuperBalla
I have decided that Pat Benatar is my favorite female rocker and Maynard from TOOL is my favorite lead vocals for male. Maynard's voice fits perfectly for their style of music. That guy is the hyena of hyena's, you shouldn't have him as your avy. 1448012 It does fit seamlessly with their music. I like his singing and yelling. He wouldn't sound right with any other band. They are consistently great with every album and I'd recomend anyone to try any of their records if you like pure hard rock. They tend to be a little alternative but Pearl Jam is considered alternative and they can't even hold Tool's jock. The avy is because Tool's new album is out today and I have it...arguably their best.
Controller
Female - you don't get much of a better voice than Jewel. 1447699 If Jewel was singing in the middle of the street and I was driving, there wouldn't even be skid marks. So nobody else likes Tool's front guy as much as me? He has arguably the best voice for rock. 1447869 He does, yes. And ditto with my choice, Aaron Lewis. Could Chris Daughtry from American Ido be next? Avril 1448501 Purrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Cameltosis
Female has to be Joplin. Male is harder for me. Patton, Cash and Cornell are up there. Layne Staley (sp?) is up there. But I would have to say Plant and Mercury rise above everyone.

jaxfactor
Scott Weiland when he was with STP. Ever hear the song "Atlanta" from No.4? I thought I was hearing the ghost of Jim Morrison when I heard that song, Creapy! Also like Ed Roland of Collective Soul. Going back to older days though nobody can touch Robert Plant. Had plenty of people try to duplicate his vocals. Anyone ever remember a group called Kingdome Come? Kingdom Clone is more like it.

jaxfactor
Forgot to mention female vocalists. Ann Wilson of Heart kicked some serious ass. Stevie Nicks had a destinctive voice which nobody can duplicate. Forgot another male vocalist who I think is awesome but who has already been mentioned here. Chris Cornell. Loved him in Soundgarden and he was great with Temple of the Dog. Times of Trouble is probably my favorite vocal by Chris.

pork chop express
fist name that came to mind was Chris Cornell. Dude has an awesome voice. Eddie vetter has a strong voice as well and Pearl Jam sounds as good live as they do in the studio. As far as women go, I have to say that Annie Lenox was the first one I thought of. I can see where one would like Natalie Merchant though. Also like Fiona Apple's voice. But a sleeper who is absolutleyfreakingamazing is Bonnie Rait.
