alexgaddis
I'll clear up how I feel about Charlie Batch. He is a solid QB, who is on the next tier down from the lowest tier of an NFL starter's level.................. sort of like Brad Johnson. Brad Johnson is a super bowl winning veteran QB...Charlie Batch is a sub-par career backup QB...comparing the two is assinine...no wonder people say the things they do about you... Yes, there are 31 other teams that would give anything to have Brad Johnson as their starting QB.... However, if you cant read between the lines, and see I was joking because I know who Hugh One's favorite team is, then I feel sorry for you. As for what people say about me, somehow I'm still here, and still have the strength to move on with my life......... you people crack me up. Oh yeah Menudo, well lots of people here don't like you !!!! Run away, run away !!!!! Edited September 6, 2006 by Menudo
The Misfit
I see Miami winning in a good game 17-13, and this is surprising for me, cause I picked Pitt to go 15-1 this year. H8's always been on the Steeler bandwagon. Let's see, how did the Steelers do at home last year? 5-3, with wins over Tennessee, Baltimore, Cleveland, Chicago and Detroit. In other words, the worst teams in the league. They lost at home to New England, Jacksonville, and Cincy. If the Steelers had a home playoff game last year, they never woulda made it to the Super Bowl. Charlie Batch won't fear the Fins D, but he will fear the Steeler faithful, who will be ready to Maddoxize him if they lose this game. His children will be taunted and his home will be pelted with rocks and garbage. Fins, 13-2.
Furd
Batch is a clown. The Steelers offense is going to have hugh difficulties scoring. I see Miami prevailing 6-3.
i_am_the_swammi
I am not a betting man but I'd take Pittsburgh and the over. Final, 24-13. I'd take the over, too...public is betting the O/U way down, so naturally, you should take the over. Pitt -1 at home is a tougher call, since I loved MIA +5.5.....I liked MIA to win the game outright, but the added points were a bonus. I'll probably stay away, but if I had to guess....Miami 19, Pitt 16, as both teams struggle inside the red zone.
keggerz
Saban will not let the Pitt running game beat him, if the stillers are gonna win saban will make batch beat him....i sure wouldnt want to put my money on batch's shoulders
Flip_Side
I'm not even going to predict a score, this should be a great game. It's in Pittsburgh, the crowd will be crazy, it's also ring ceremony night or something along those lines, which means even more incentive for the Steelers to be pumped up. Batch will have to beat us though, our secondary is slowly coming together, I think he may be able to do well against us. Hugh 0ne
By the way, the bet thing was a quote from a very popular movie (Dumb & Dumber). The fact that it went flying way over your head isn't my fault. It is fun arguing with you, but, stop taking yourself so seriously around here. It doesn't bother me one iota that I annoy you, and it never will. Yeah, I'm pretty bummed that a joke from a movie "Dumb and Dumber" flew over my head. And if you had any brain whatsoever, you'd know very well that I don't take myself seriously around here at all. I just call a spade a spade, and for you that's just not a good thing. godtomsatan
it was only last week the spread on this game was pitt -5.5 with the over under 38. as of now, most books have it at pitt -1 and over under 34.5. i think the public is overreacting a bit on this. i can easily see them being wrong on both accounts. Bingo. I plan on hitting the Steelers and the OVER big.

crispirons
Bingo. I plan on hitting the Steelers and the OVER big. spread over at the suncoast casino is now a pick. 3 team teaser for thursday looks so solid i'm scared. pitt +6 over 28.5 boise st. -2 boise is at home on the blue turf where there record is astounding. they take on oregon st. the over under is 59 but i couldn't get a feel eitherway. over 53 prolly would have been the choice. Menudo
This is gonna be a great game, so much drama the past 3 months and now the first game of the season! Pitt, no Ben, no Bettis, willie? Ward? Charlie, charlie who? Miami, angry-hungry coach, Beast in Ronnie, culp to chambers the new moss connection? I see Miami winning in a good game 17-13, and this is surprising for me, cause I picked Pitt to go 15-1 this year. ~ disclaimer - This post has not been tested on animals or manudo's. with injuries i was thinking mia by a larger margin....... 24-13. If the Steelers had a better backup QB they would have a better chance. Phins win 20-10 I like the Phins to win. I see the Phins wearing out the Steelers defense in the 4th quarter due to all the 3 and outs the Steeler offense will encounter against a stingy Phin defense. Charlie Batch is not good and is old. Dolphins win 17-10 miami 17, pitt 13, manudo 7 unrhymed couplets i just see the steelers having a real hard time moving the ball. they can win if they score on D though, like if culpepper FUMBLES Oops...... Menudo
More like: Charlie Batch isn't as good as you, once again blinded by homerism, seem to think. He's thrown 1 TD and 1 INT in the NFL in the last 4 years. You crack me up Menudo. If Pittsburgh wins, they do it solely by completely shutting down the Miami offense, because they will not be able to move the ball and put up points on offense. If Miami doesn't turn the ball over, they should win this game. Good call Hugh One
wildcat2334
Bingo. I plan on hitting the Steelers and the OVER big. Nice call - you are in Vegas- I am hoping you made it to the window in time.
Bier Meister
it was actually a pretty decent game and imo mia should have been able to hold onto it. in general, i saw mia win the battle of field position but couldn't take full advantage. in the 4th, the phins leading 17-14 started a drive from there own 5 with about 12 min left. nice little 5-6 min drive to pit's 43. they have to punt and give to to pit with about 6 min to go on their 13. another good play call (blown coverage) and miller gets inside the two (to me the ref's 2 bad calls here didn't impact the game- only for us fantasy owners). dante trying to come back late, vs that d.... the way he was throwning.... i didn't think mia had much of a chance...... again..... d and running game keep it close enough to win.... then the d puts and exclamation ponit on it.
