H8tank
This is gonna be a great game, so much drama the past 3 months and now the first game of the season! Pitt, no Ben, no Bettis, willie? Ward? Charlie, charlie who? Miami, angry-hungry coach, Beast in Ronnie, culp to chambers the new moss connection? I see Miami winning in a good game 17-13, and this is surprising for me, cause I picked Pitt to go 15-1 this year. ~ disclaimer - This post has not been tested on animals or manudo's. Bier Meister
with injuries i was thinking mia by a larger margin....... 24-13.
Skippy
I've got Pitt in a squeaker. Pitt is always slow out of the gate but I think losing Ben will really shake up the team in a good way. No matter what I think this is a game to bet the under on but I still see Pitt a FG ahead. major-tom
If the Steelers had a better backup QB they would have a better chance. Phins win 20-
heehawks
Pitt is at home, has a great D, and went 4-2 without Ben last year. Ronnie hasn't carried a full load yet and is still somewhat unproven, Culpepper hasn't played four quarters yet after major knee surgery. I call a convincing win by Pitt 21-
TDFFFreak
I like Pitt by a nose. Home field is the clincher.
crispirons
No matter what I think this is a game to bet the under on but I still see Pitt a FG ahead. it was only last week the spread on this game was pitt -5.5 with the over under 38. as of now, most books have it at pitt -1 and over under 34.5. i think the public is overreacting a bit on this. i can easily see them being wrong on both accounts. Bushey
I like the Phins to win. I see the Phins wearing out the Steelers defense in the 4th quarter due to all the 3 and outs the Steeler offense will encounter against a stingy Phin defense. Charlie Batch is not good and is old. Menudo
Steelers 20 Dolphins 17 This is going to be a real good football game. Charlie Batch isn't as bad as many of you seem to think, but, he isn't a QB who can be expected to put the team on his shoulders either. The Dolphins are, obviously, going to load up the line of scrimmage to try and stop the running game and dare Batch to try to beat them. I look for the Steelers defense to do a good job against Miami, though Miami will move the ball at times. In the end, I give the Steelers the slight edge being at home in front of a crowd that may be a little extra motivated due to the pre-game, super bowl celebration. Regardless of what happens, I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve right now. HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO !!!!!
Goopster24
I like 21-10 in the Steelers favor. They will be fired up as Ben is out and they will be celebrating their Super Bowl win of last year. Miami will be solid this year but Pittsburgh is the better team overall. I put some money on this the other night and it was a pick em' for me. Sweet....
Hugh 0ne
Charlie Batch isn't as bad as many of you seem to think More like: Charlie Batch isn't as good as you, once again blinded by homerism, seem to think. He's thrown 1 TD and 1 INT in the NFL in the last 4 years. You crack me up Menudo. If Pittsburgh wins, they do it solely by completely shutting down the Miami offense, because they will not be able to move the ball and put up points on offense. If Miami doesn't turn the ball over, they should win this game.

My whole sentence was: This is going to be a real good football game. Charlie Batch isn't as bad as many of you seem to think, but, he isn't a QB who can be expected to put the team on his shoulders either. A little differnet isn't it ? I don't think Charlie Batch is good, I think he is a decent backup. He has thrown 1 TD & 1 INT in how many games ? Finish off your information instead of trying to take it out of context so that you continue your obsession with pointing out that I am a Steelers homer. I am, everyone knows it, move on. When you stop, I'll stop pointing it out. If you post something, mean it or don't post it and don't hide behind bs excuses. I bet, I don't bet. Charlie Batch isn't that bad, Charlie Batch isn't good, etc. Learn what it means to take things out of context before talking about it. The statement I made was 100% accurate, he's thrown 1 TD and 1 INT in the last 4 years. The statement you made, well, you're trying to weasel your way out of it again. Typical. Maybe when you grow yourself a tiny bit of objectivity, I'll stop pointing out all of your obvious flaws, mistakes, and utter bullsh*t. Azazello1313
miami 17, pitt 13, manudo 7 unrhymed couplets i just see the steelers having a real hard time moving the ball. they can win if they score on D though, like if culpepper FUMBLES Edited September 6, 2006 by Azazello1313
Savage Beatings
Who wins? Heath Miller owners, that's who. When a backup QB comes in it seems like they are always looking for that steady-handed relief valve to dump off to for most of the game. I like Miller a lot as a TE, but I like him even more in this opening game.

When I say something, take the whole quote.... don't just pick out the part that helps you make your same point over and over and over again. I'll clear up how I feel about Charlie Batch. He is a solid QB, who is on the next tier down from the lowest tier of an NFL starter's level.................. sort of like Brad Johnson. By the way, the bet thing was a quote from a very popular movie (Dumb & Dumber). The fact that it went flying way over your head isn't my fault. It is fun arguing with you, but, stop taking yourself so seriously around here. It doesn't bother me one iota that I annoy you, and it never will.
