sundaynfl
Sounds pretty good!! Anything for furthering my education.... but if you are killing brain cells is it possible that we are learning?? On a side note I am excited about a wine party that I was invited to on Saturday night... don't really know what to expect as the host is a HUGH collector and insisted that I don't bring a thing, so I am bringing some good cigars. I'll give a full report when I recover.

Caveman_Nick
I might play depending on the night. Last time, did you put out a wine list several weeks out? I wonder if that might be helpful
Scare Tactics
So i wasnt here for the 1st time around, what is this post about? And I am new to wine and willing to be part of a learning experience...
Bier Meister
we were selecting a couple of bottles ($15 or less) of a varietal a week from different regions to get an idea of what a typical "X" was. i'll try to find some of those original posts. Brewer
I'll try it again. Usually, I just drank beer while you guys drank wine. Or was that the beer tastings that we did?
nogohawk
I'm in depending on the night ... just starting tax season, so might need a little refreshment when I get home!
CaP'N GRuNGe
I picked up a cheap bottle of Cavit Pinot Grigio the other day. Not very impressed. I don't know of all Pinot Grigios taste like this but if so I'll avoid the varietal going forward. Very little taste. Almost like it was watered down. Not a repeat. Oh, and I tried the Rex Goliath Pinot Noir. More flavor with this one, but still not very good. Also not a repeater. Had a bottle of Chateau St. Michelle Riesling. Not bad but not nearly as smooth and enjoyable as the Kendall Jackson Riesling we've been enjoying lately. That's about the extent of my dabbling into the world of wine lately... I'm almost right there with you except for the Rex Goliath Pinot. We really did like that one and bought a few to keep in the house. The KJ Riesling is our favorite at the moment though. Chief Dick
You know, this sounds interesting and all, but if my wife comes home and finds me having a wine tasting party with my "internet friends", I'm pretty sure my balls will NEVER make it out of her purse. Its a collaborative effort between CSM and Dr. Loosen (read: big time german riesling maker). I've served it to many people and all have enjoyed. There's another collaboration between the two but I'm drawing a blank on the name right now. I believe its something involving a single letter...maybe Saint M or something like that. St. M is the right name. Eroica is some pretty good stuff and the Saint M is waiting to be opened. I met the Dr. at a wine tasting last year and he is a pretty cool dude that looks kinda like Al Franken!
