cliaz
I just finished watching a video on cnn.com about Obama trying to quit smoking and how people view it. As a non-smoker I could care less that a public figure like a politian smoked as long as they did their job to the best of their ability but it appears that some people have issues with this. Both smokers and non-smokers how do you feel about politians that smoke?

Rebellab
Half of the South Dakota State Legislature smokes. They have a bill they are debating this week to outlaw smoking in all public places except tobacco stores and casinos. They seem to be doing their job. As far as on a national level, they are adults and can make their own choices. It is not like they are role models, I hope not anyway. I have a bigger problem with athletes and tobacco such as baseball, where young children see it. They are role models. Who as a kid didn't dream about playing baseball the rest of their life. I guess smoking is ok, but he better be faithful to his wife, or else that means he is a bad president.

Well, its either that or the 6-10 naps our current president takes.
Big John
There have been smoking presidents in the past. Whether the candidate smokes or not does not matter to me. (As the candidate is likely corrupt anyway.)

Savage Beatings
Speaking of smoking... I heard yesterday that Minnesota's new Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison, called the police on Congressman Tancredo because he could smell cigar smoke coming from his office. The police informed Ellison that it was perfectly legal for Tancredo to smoke in his office and that they would "look into it." When Tancredo found out that Ellison called the police on him he basically said that there was no way he would stop smoking his cigars now... and that had Ellison just come over and talked to him about it, he probably would have been a lot more accomodating. Bill Swerski
Well, its either that or the 6-10 naps our current president takes. Winston Churchill had about 6-10 drinks per day and was still able to lead England though World War II. Obama's smoking habit was normal behavior for people back in Churchill's day.
