Big Country
My wife said turn it over to the guys at the huddle and see waht they think. As many of you know, we are due in late April (baby pool to be posted soon ala Hugh One), and we are not finding out if we are having a boy or girl. We already have one boy (in avatar) who turned two in October. So, not letting you know which of the above choices are mine and which is my wife's, which names do you prefer. For a girl, we are deciding between Madelyn Elizabeth and Hannah Elizabeth. For a boy, we are deciding between Austin David and Austin James. For reference and making sure the name flows okay, etc., my last name is Carey. So Huddlers, have at it.

Big Country
ahem.... I know... but my wife may not go for Puddy...
Puddy
I know... but my wife may not go for Puddy... In that case, Hannah is a little too popular right now, so I voted Madelyn. James sounds better than David with Austin.
Savage Beatings
I know... but my wife may not go for Puddy... How about Loaf?
max
I went with Hannah and James. But ... Austin Puddy and Loaf Elizabeth do kinda have a ring to them
Savage Beatings
I went with the names that seemed to flow the easiest upon pronunciation. Madelyn Elizabeth is just slightly more clumsy than Hannah Elizabeth. Same thing with the boys, Austin David is just a little bit more clumsy to say than Austin James. Agreed, but I still it think Hannah sounds a little better, jmo.
i_am_the_swammi
I went with Madelyn (Hannah is way to common these days), and David (since its my name). I would have liked to have seen Steven in the mix....he could then have been Steve Austin, AKA the 6 million dollar baby! Congrats in advance!! twiley
So..are you naming your kid Austin in memory of your lover that recently moved there?
MojoMan
What's the first letter of your last name? Don't want initials like HEL or ADD if possible. BTW. my name is Isaac Michael Anthony Norbert Arthur Simon Schlabotnik. It hasn't been fun. Edited March 20, 2007 by MojoMan
wildcat2334
Madelyn and James - James is just a stud middle name. period.
Big John
Hannah gives the initials "HEC", sounds like a "K" would follow, so I went with Madeline. And James sounded better with "Austin".

i_am_the_swammi
And James sounded better with "Austin". There was an actor named "David Austin something"....from Beverly Hills 90210. Or so I am told
Grits and Shins
I voted against Hannah simply because of whom I associate that name with. I like Austin James better than Austin David. When my wife and I were having a disagreement about my son's middle name we decided to let our 2 year old daughter choose ... it made her feel very important/involved. Yukon Cornelius
how about Austin Healy
Grits and Shins
The other thing you might consider is likely nick names. With a name like Madelyn she might be called Maddie, or EM. Austin James might be called AJ.
chiefjay
I like Madelyn (Maddie) and prefer David as a middle name over James. James sounds too Chauferrish

Grits and Shins
I would have thought for sure his middle name was Easton. I wanted Alexander or Christopher but my wife nixed those. So my compromised choice was Ryan ... hers was Andrew. My daughter chose Andrew.
chiefjay
I would have thought for sure his middle name was Easton. I was thinking Demarini but that probably wouldn't flow as well as Easton.
DMD
I am having a challenge not resorting to my admin capabilities with the vote 20 to 7 AGAINST "David" which is a perfectly fine name, very adaptable, biblical and means "beloved" (of course). David only turns into Dave. James turns into Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo, Jayce, Jimmy-crack-corn, Jamie, etc. Much better control with a name like David. Noble. Starts and ends with the same letter. It's like the full circle of names. That is my objective choice. Of course Wolf is an even better name...
