I remember drinking 15 B-52s on top of my regular drinks one New Year's Eve. That was in my younger days. If I drank 26 I'd probably be dead. Well, it wasnt so much that I hit the wall as that I hurled myself into the wall at the speed of light! It was sort of like those old crash test dummy commercials. The problem began when my plans to eat lunch were ditched in favor of drinking a liquid lunch. So, all I had to eat all day yesterday was a bowl of cereal for breakfast. The alcohol, lack of sleep, and no food finally caught up to me. Culminating in my aforementioned narcolepsy in the middle of a poker game in argueably the loudest casino on the planet. I wasnt asked to leave, but the dealer didnt want to keep giving me a wake up call everytime it was my turn to act. I am no stranger to all day drinking binges. Heck when Sky was here we drank over 12 hours straight every day of his time here. But all the factors yesterday led to the perfect storm of keeping my drink count down, and causing me to pass out early. For those who expected much much more from the Great One and are left bitter and disllusioned, I humbly apologize. It wont happy again...until next month when I come back for more! Yesterday, I started off playing at Planet Hollywood, formally known as The Alladin. Strictly a low roller room with $200 max buyin at the 1/2 NL table. I was drunk and loud and had alot of fun at this room for 3 hours or so. I talked trash and cracked on everyone without ceasing. I gave everyone at the table a nickname. There was Phil Ivey, Smooth, Hard Tits, Babooo, Bill Clinton, Big Daddy, et al. I actually received a standing ovation by the table when I left. I dont know if they were appreciative of me keeping the game fun for everyone, or they were just happy to see my drunk obnoxious ass go. I want to believe the former. I do know that everyone there was laughing their asses off the whole time. It was really a fun table but i wound up losing $150 for the session. Walked over to the Paris but their poker room is so lame, even I wouldnt play there. Caught a cab over to the Rio, my personal favorite poker room. I was immediately seated at 2/5 table. One of my Mexican ATM's had returned to the scene of the crime from the night before. Unfortunately, he donked off all of his chips to some other gringo before I had a chance to get them this time! This table was wild and loose and I saw many players busted out over the course of the evening before I went nighty-night! I have NEVER lost at this room. Never. I have no idea why I dont always play there other than the fact that I like to move around. I was drunk and still left up $450! That tells you something about the players there. I almost got into a scuffle when a local nit got really pissed at me over the following hand: I am BB and get AQ off. Everyone folds to the button who raises to $15. SB folds. I call leaving us heads up. Flop comes Q 4 8 rainbow, giving me TPTK. I bet $30. Button calls instantly. Turn is a blank. I bet $75. Button calls instantly. River is a Q giving me trips. I should have bet it. But I checked, hoping he would bet and I could check-raise, but he checked behind me. I flipped over my trips and he flipped over AA. He threw his cards down and said something about suck outs blahblahblah nobody knows what they are doing. I said, "dude, you smooth called on every street, when you were way out in front. If you want to get me off top pair top kicker and protect your hand, you are going to have to bet instead of call". He said, "dont tell me how to play poker". I said, "I am not telling you anything even the softest of fish know". Then another player told him that I was right, that he had completely misplayed his hand allowing me to catch up. I thought this nit was going to blow a gasket! He started screaming and posturing and I told him, and I quote, "you better sit your old no poker playing ass down". Everybody at the table bust out laughing at that. That sent him over the top and he left the table in a huff and never returned. The events of yesterday are not especially clear. But my voice is gone so I know I was doing alot of talking. And I won some money. I am going to The Rio today for several hours before my plane leaves. More 2/5 NL which is by far my favorite game to play. More later as I am a little hung over for some reason...
