Azazello1313
Isn't that what people have been saying since 2001 and you've been arguing the opposite? I believe on several occasions, people even said "Be careful, because this won't seem so awesome when your party is no longer in power." I mean... what else can a reasonable democrat say but "suck it" at this point? I don't recall cheerleading any massive expansions of government into virtually every aspect of the everyday lives of the citizenry. you're free to refresh my memory we've got a president pushing very concrete plans to explode the deficit (short term AND long term), to grow baseline government spending at a rate of 10-12% per year, to take unprecedented control of the economy. your squirming and obfuscating makes it clear you are uncomfortable with a lot of what is being proposed. all you can do is say, "bush did it first!" "let's wait 6 months to assess this stuff, rather than say anything while it's being rammed up our ass", etc. let's take the present example. I was strongly against bush granting bail out loans to the auto industry. you were strongly against bush granting bail out loans to the auto industry. I am strongly against obama leveraging those loans into more loans, and ultimately into greater and greater government control over that industry. you need 6 months to decide....and umm....Have to agree here!! bush sucks!!! Ursa Majoris
You're coming around... If you check back, you'll find I've always favored the intelligence and surgical strike route. It's cheaper and it's much more efficient. I've also supported both Bush and Obama's attacks inside Pakistan.

Ursa Majoris
Does that include Obama's stated intent to intervene with military force with or without the blessing of Pakistan's government? We should reserve the right to directly attack confirmed Al Qaeda camps wherever they are located if the local government fails to deal with them in a reasonable time frame, say a week or so. TimC
I dig the Stevie Ray Vaughan version... Let me tell you how it will be There's one for you, nineteen for me 'cause i'm the taxman Yeah, i'm the taxman Should five percent appear too small Be thankful i don't take it all 'cause i'm the taxman Yeah, i'm the taxman If you drive a car, i'll tax the street If you try to sit, i'll tax your seat If you get too cold, i'll tax the heat If you try to walk, i'll tax your feet Don't ask me what i want it for If you don't want to pay some more 'cause i'm the taxman Yeah, i'm the taxman Now my advice for those who die Declare the pennies on your eyes 'cause i'm the taxman Yeah, i'm the taxman
AtomicCEO
For some reason, it's apparently okay for a President to suck mightily as long as he's from one's party, whereas the last President who did the same things on a lesser magnitude from the other party ought to be brought up on criminal charges. This was my point, yes. Some people for 8 years didn't give a crap about what the president did, but 2.5 months into a new president, they are freaking out that the other party is doing the same stuff to a lesser degree. We are on the same page.

driveby
A Florida congressman today called on the Obama administration to demand the firing of UAW President Ron Gettelfinger, saying the union was just as responsible for the predicament at General Motors Corp. as ousted chairman Rick Wagoner. sounds good to me

bushwacked
Atomic, define "freaking out"? Getting worked up about things being "unconstitutional" when you don't know the obvious details of said story and squat about the constitution. This thread is full of freak outs. bushwacked
World's Largest Automaker GM's comeback has been powered by well-regarded models that sell around the world, like the Chevrolet Cruze. Not only did GM sell a lot of cars, it also made some good money doing it -- in constrast to past year when big sales didn't necessarily translate to healthy profits. The company reported net income of $7.1 billion for the first three quarters of last year. It reports the fourth quarter next month.

bushwacked
you would have to believe that barney frank and barack obama know how to run a business and/or have any business trying to do so. If you really want to try some Kevin Bacon degrees of connection yea....what you really need to believe, is that for this particular unique instance, the guy who took over for Wagoner can run GM better than Wagoner. I await for Az to either admit his error of logic or give Barney Frank and Obama credit for turning GM around
