muck
Looks nice! I wonder how much a replacement battery (or other basic maintenance items) would cost. Parts and car insurance would probably be a bear, though...

Perchoutofwater
That is pretty cool. The base price is only $50,000. It says it has a range of 300 miles with the best battery option (I'm guessing this jacks up the price), but is that 300 miles on flat roads with out the radio or air conditioner on? I'm just wondering what the real world range is. I'd also like to know what it actually costs to charge the battery, and what replacement batteries cost. CaP'N GRuNGe
I've posted a few times about the Tesla. Find the youtube posting I did where they did some road testing. Came up short in some areas so the car still needs some development. I like the concept though.
CaP'N GRuNGe
Wow, just clicked the link. That's a nice looking car. Prices have come down too. They were over 100K for a different model.

rajncajn
That is pretty cool. The base price is only $50,000. It says it has a range of 300 miles with the best battery option (I'm guessing this jacks up the price), but is that 300 miles on flat roads with out the radio or air conditioner on? I'm just wondering what the real world range is. I'd also like to know what it actually costs to charge the battery, and what replacement batteries cost. 45 minute recharge shouldn't be that big a cost if it can be done with a standard power outlet. Also, given the typical gas tank on a car runs about 15 gal (I could be wrong), it would be the equivalent of getting about 20 mpg. At about $38 to fill that tank I would imagine the savings to be quite substantial. Hmmm, am I figuring right? Does that calculate to about 4 hours drive time @ 75mph? So, if you planned on taking a trip with this thing then you would have to be sure you stopped somewhere you could recharge it while you're eating lunch or whatever. H8tank
Isn't this the company who took peoples deposits, oversold what they could produce, and raised the prices dramatically on new 'options' that were originally part of the price of the car after the contracts were signed? Thought so.
