muck
A friend of mine reminded me that everyone, regardless of political persuasion or spiritual reference point, should be praying for Obama that he makes wise decisions in leading our country. Then, he left me with the Bible verse that he was meditating on while he was praying for Obama. Psalm 109:8 So, whether or not this verse resonates with you, or you have something else you'd like to meditate on, or if you're even a praying person or not, I think that this is a pretty good idea. Big John
Psalm 109:8 would actually be a prayer against him: "Let his days be few; and let another take his office."

Perchoutofwater
Some of you might find this shocking but I actually do pray for our president on occasion, and not for his demise, but that the Lord will give him the wisdom to do the right thing and make the right decisions. I've also prayed that some redneck idiot doesn't do something stupid too.

TimC
Is this like one of these God Bless America deals where I sometimes feel like we're really saying God Don't Bless the rest of the world?

muck
A year ago, I would have given you the benefit of the doubt muck. Now... You seriously think I want something bad to befall our President? I do find it sad that more "praying types" don't appear to genuinely pray for our President (even if they don't agree with him). I did find it funny that my friend explained his prayers for Obama in such a way so that it wasn't obvious that (among other things he's praying for Obama about) that he is also praying that Obama is a one-term President (i.e., that he gets defeated the next time around, not that someone offs him).
