I Was Robbed!

I was debating whether to post this or not:

Last week I was sitting at the office and my extension began ringing, I picked up and a voice at the other end said... "Todd, this is detective Meritt w. the Marietta Police Department. Do you still own a S&W Chief's Special 40 Cal?" Me:  , Yeah, but I'm betting it's not in my posession...

Turns out, on March 16th, 3 juveniles decided that they would break into my house. We never knew they had come into the house.

On the 16th, it was a trash day, I got a bag of trash off of the back screen porch, walked it through the house and evidently forgot to lock the back door. When I came home, the screen door, which is always locked, was cut... I thought I may have hit it with the bag of trash and torn it. Nothing was missing in the house... They walked by video cameras, laptop computers, Wii, big jar of silver change, took nothing, but the 40 Cal. They left other guns that were in the closet, the 40 cal was in a drawer in the bureau not 5 feet from the closet and my sig 45 was in a gun case next to the bed in plain site, they didn't take it.

So I tell the cop that I will come by the next evening to pick it up. But, he continues, are you missing anything else from your house and I tell him not that I'm sure of... Well, the 40 cal was in a bag, am I missing any bags. So I tell him I'll go home and look around. HOLY diaper dirt, the mfer's took a backpack style diaper bag, loaded my 40 Cal in it, and 600 rounds of 45 ammo, 200 rounds of 40 ammo, 250 rounds of 44 ammo and my wife's little digital camera.... I had not noticed any of this stuff missing for over a month

I go to pick up the stuff the next day and take my wife, she is interested because she works for the state dept of Juvenile Justice. Turns out the three teens had been caught, they can't directly link them to my house or my stuff, but it was found in the backyard of a neighbors house where they were caught.

The three teens had been skipping school and living in one of my neighbors houses during the day and from my neighbors house, for about a week had been pilfering food, drinks, beer, ordering porn, etc... Well, these kids decided that for the week prior to hitting my house that they would rob other houses during the day, there were two other homes that were hit twice each. The day that these kids got caught, the neighbors had picked up that someone was around their house, because the prior day the had broken some potted plants outside the house and had inadvertently left the porn on on the neighbors TV when they left. So, the neighbor's father in law was asked to sit at the house the next day. Just befor ethe kids decided to come into the house they fired off a round from a different gun that they had stolen from one of the other homes. From what the cop said the loud bang scared them a great deal, they dropped the gun and hauled ass. Well the neighbor's FIL gave chase, followed them back to the school and identified the kids, two mexicans and a white kid.

The cop tells us that one of the kids is a low level in MS 13 (had actually been arrested w. gang members before) and the other two are just wannabe's. And tells us all the info above. I get my stuff back, thank the cops for their work and go about my day.

Well, my wife is still pissed and has the name of these kids. She wants to make their life a living hell. So she calls around and find's the person w. DJJ that is handling the case. We are suprised to find out that all 3 of them have been held since the cops caught them. Cobb County isn't playing around on this one and that the judge is probably gonna nail their asses to the wall. They're really pissed about the firing of the gun thing.

Funny thing is in all of this is that the .40 that they stole needs to go to the shop because it has a broken spring and will not fire. The other funny thing, they left close to 4K in other pistols just sitting in the house, all of which worked. Funniest thing, Basset Hounds are diaper dirtty guard dogs, all he did was diaper dirt on the floor while they were in the house... I'm getting a Doberman Puppy this weekend, naming him Satan. I can't wait in about two years when those kids get out of YDC for them to come by the house when I'm not home... and meet Satan.

So...you're saying you leave unsecured firearms/ammo laying about your home?

Yes, I do. Don't have a child old enough to mess with 'em. Though, this experience has rectified that situation.

Basset Hounds are sheety guard dogs, all he did was sheet on the floor while they were in the house...

Hounds in general make horrible guard dogs...there's documented cases where hounds were used to track a fugitive, caught up with the person they were tracking, and went to live with them...

So I'm thinking that transvestite bubble gum wasps are known for burping on hostess cupcakes. However, the Brazilian coconut ant can be lethal if earwax humping paint thinner vomited happy rodent balls on a shampoo bottle.

Guess what I'm on right now?

ETA: sux you got robbed. I forgot that was the whole purpose of my reply. But I'm pretty f*cked up right now. Oh, and you are horrible for leaving uber piles of ammo and guns
