NOSaint237
I have a couple that stand out above all the rest although I could list quite a few. #2 would be my cousin drafting Kicker Bill Cowher of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Not sure how that happened, although he was using a magazine to draft which says enough already. #1 is hands down a bidding war for WR Rod Tidwell (the Arizona Cardinal WR), (the one from Jerry MacGuire). Oh yes, that happened.
Grits and Shins
The same owner drafted Yatil Green 2 years in a row, both years after Yatil was done for the year.

Slightly off topic but always amazed at hearing those obscure names mentioned that are only relevant to fantasy footballers. At what point do you help that guy?? Lol. The Wolf
About 15 years ago, a new owner (Brett was his name) got razzed for taking a Defense in round 3. His response: "I just got 11 guys with ONE pick...none of you were smart enough to do that!" We still call f-ups "Bretts."
TNtitans
We told one of our buddies that likes to drink heavily to meet us at the bar 2 hours prior to the draft. He drank heavily as expected. Drafted Steve Young with 1st pick after he retired due to concussions. Drafted Robert Edwards with his 2nd pick after he blew his knee out in a beach football offseason event. It gets brought up every year.
BearBroncos
Nothing stands out, but I love the trade Pete with Andre in "The league" after promising not to trade rape him by trading him Plaxico, shortly after his incarceration.
gringuljete
Back in 2001, we're drafting and we have a new guy (worked with my wife) playing. He's at the end of the first round. It's his turn to pick. He says, "I'm going to need a workhorse; I'll take Priest Holmes." Everybody starts laughing - making fun of him. Priest Who? Everybody had a great laugh, until . . . Well, you know the rest.
Butkus
Last year a long time stalwart in our league selected Phil Jackson in the second round. When we laughed and asked "The hoops coach? Do you mean Steven Jackson?" he was so embarrassed he said "uh..yeah". A round or so later when Desean Jackson was picked, he shot up claiming he was already drafted. "That's the Jackson I picked". Needless to say, he got Steven.
Sprtfan
I play in a IDP league and we had someone draft Sean Taylor the year after he died.

Timmypg
we had a guy draft Eddie George 3 times in 1 draft. Beer was involved.
lkirc
I drafted Mike Bell in the 4th round one year and had to use a write in sticker because he wasn't included with out draft kit. That should have been a wake-up call ,but, again beer and pre-season hype were involved......
MTSuper7
We had a guy draft NYG WR Victor Cruz in the fifth round last year (not a dynasty draft, a regular draft). No drinking was involved. We all kinda looked at each other and shrugged. Then again, my genius in that league last year was taking Randy Moss and DeAngelo Williams with my first two picks, so what do I know... peepinmofo
I believe it was 2001 or 2002. Maybe 4th or 5th round IIRC, and we needed a WR. Best 2 were a seasoned Johnny Morton coming off a decent year, or a young Hines Ward. We took Morton. Next pick was Ward. Yeah, we sucked. Me and the same partner bit on the William Greene hype the next year.
budweiser
two years ago a friend of mine snagged "D.Clark" in the fourth round . we're all like "hmmm , ok, kind of a reach for Dallas Clark this early" ... then he paused for second.. and then said "no , Desmond Clark , tight end for the Bears" .... Dallas Clark was available by the way
matt770
I drafted Randy Moss 13th overall in a local league in 2005, his first year as a Raider. He sucked, so I traded him for Tiki Barber. Tiki went on an insane run after that and I won the league title.
skinsfan827
We have a draft every year with guys from my work. Last year our annual punching bag took Patrick Crayton in the 4th round. This was before he was traded to the Chargers (Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, Roy Williams, and Jason Witten were all still available) This wasn't even a Cowboy homer pick. The 13ers
I am the commissioner in my league. Our second year, I announced way before the draft that I bumped up the DEF scoring up, so just be 'aware' of that. My genius brother drafted STL DEF in the FIRST friggin' round (and I believe this was the year Balt won the SB, so you know how good that DEF was). I asked him, 'Are you sure you want to take a DEF this early?'. He said 'Yes. You said the scoring was going to be up for defenses.'. I tried to talk him out of it, but he said it was ok. He wasn't even drinking! So, of course I bring it up every year. I ask him if he is sure he doesn't want to draft STL def instead of his pick. To this day, he still says,'You said the scoring was going to be up for defenses' and gets mad at me all over. It's too funny!

Luckily Steve Beuerlein was sitting on the bench and he finished the year with a 4400/36 season. He saved me.

Seahawks21
My local keeper expanded AD's rookie year. There were two new owners. One was going to get AD, and one was going to get Lynch. The argument that year was about which one to take. AD was coming off injury, Lynch's popularity was growing, etc. Instead of deciding on one, one of the new owners pulls off a deal with the guy that had won the previous 4 championships, trading the first overall pick, who would be Adrian Peterson, for a 32-year-old Shaun Alexander. Roughly 30 seconds later I announced it would be my last season in the league. That guy is still winning championships. Dick Butkus has been taken in the last round of that league for about 13 years now. Gayle Sayers went right after him once. We also had a guy who thought he had taken Peyton Manning early end up without a QB on his roster after the draft.
tazinib1
I'm anxiously awaiting a Henry Muto post..... oh wait..this is draft day bloopers. Muto doesn't do bloopers. My bad.
staniels12
Our Iranian friend wanted to join the league for several years, but we kept talking him out of it because he only knew the Carolina Panther players and he was more into kickball (the OTHER kind of football) anyway. Finally he claimed he had been studying all the FF magazines all summer and we had an owner bail out last-minute, so we awarded a franchise to the Persian Pythons. He was drafting OK for 6 or 7 rounds, until he took Toby Gowin from Dallas in the 8th to start the kicker run. Only problem was Toby was the punter. staniels12
And then there was the 1st draft we ever did with IDP back in 1995. The guy who worked in the dish pit at Chili's drafted Panthers DL Mike Fox in the 2nd round because he was a regular at the restaurant and had just walked back into the kitchen and tipped all the guys $20 apiece the night before.
