Scooby
and why I support gender discrimination in certain places of employment: http://planoblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2...rmer-plano.html The trial of a former Plano kindergarten teacher began today, with details of bizarre and disturbing behavior. Joseph Garbarini III, 29, is accused of inappropriate sexual acts with two girls in his class. Colleague Valerie Wigglesworth is covering the trial. She writes that Garbarini had his students play a mommy-baby game and diapered them. A 5-year-old's comments about inappropriate touching triggered district and Child Protective Services investigations. Wigglesworth, sitting in on opening arguments also writes this: The prosecutor told jurors they would hear from investigators who searched Garbarini's home and found thousands of diapers, many of them dirty. Investigators also found a cage where Garbarini said he slept in diapers because the cage door was controlled by someone on the Internet, she said. Investigators also found a bedroom decorated in a princess theme with Snow White bedding on a toddler bed. [The prosecutor] said the bed also had shackles. Read more here. The former Plano ISD kindergarten teacher has been held in the Collin County jail on $1 million bail since his arrest in May 2010. He faces up to life in prison if convicted on two felony charges of sexual abuse of a child and indecency with a child. sorry folks, but I would never allow a man to teach kindergarteners & elementary students....just my opinion here. If either of my kids ever have a male teacher during their early yrs of education on up to middle school, I would yank them out of that school and transfer them STAT!!! Not to say that there have never been any problems with the female teachers, (aka Mary Kay Letourneau of the top of my head) but this angers me to no end.... Also my sister's friend (a social worker) said she has seen countless causes of sexual abuse when parents allow a teenage boy to babysit their children(that nice neighborhood boy from a good family no less--we can trust him) Don't do it!! Savage Beatings
First off, I have to say that I am pretty much convinced that Wigglesworth has to be a fake name. I mean seriously... nobody outside of a cartoon could actually carry that surname, could they? Now with that out of the way... fry this Ginsuer. Literally, set him on fire and allow him to burn to death. Edited August 17, 2011 by Savage Beatings

matt770
One of the most bizarre and disturbing stories I've ever heard. The guy sounds completed demented. While I agree that a man voluntarily signing up to teach 20 screaming brats that age is not the norm, there is no justification to say he can't because of gender. Unfortunately you put your trust in people you don't really know very well every time to drop your kids off at school, and they can be screwballs, male or female. Hell, some female teachers I had in 3rd or 4th grade left scars on me, just because they were sadistic bitches.

muck
A guy who was a friend of mine when we were in HS lost his job teaching HS because a few years ago. Why? A female student started flirting with him ... which led to him (eventually) flirting back, which eventually led to inappropriate texting (and his self-admitted desire to bed the student (who was, by this time, a freshman in college)). And, by the time he started to orchestrate meeting this former student, he was involved in a variety of inappropriate flirtations with other then-current HS students (at least one of which was only a few steps behind his actions towards the then-college-freshman). One of the parents of one of the girls found out about the texts, and everything came out. He was fired on the spot. He has told me (and others) that his drive (if you can call it that) was a result of his nearly unlimited access to porn coupled with the scars of an unhealthy relationship he had when he was not yet of age. This combination is a pretty common one --- after the fact, he told me that in his efforts to move forward with his life, that something like 60% of all men have "a problem with pornography" [note: I didn't ask him what 'problem' meant; I just let him carry on with the point he was making.] Something to think about when your kids are in a situation where they'll be around adults you don't know that well ... something to think about when 60% of you will be around kids period ... something to think about before your son or daughter goes on a date ... etc ... It's scary out there, people! ********************************** Depravity is not limited by intellect or wherewithal. In fact, intellect and wherewithal can exacerbate depravity... ********************************** My gut wrenches thinking about the scars the two little girls will have to deal with... SteelBunz
Deviants come in all genders and ages. Your kids are MORE likely to get lured into playing doctor with a classmate than they are being inappropriately accosted by a teacher. And where do you draw the line? 3rd grade? 5th? What about male soccer coaches? Gymnastics coaches? Swimming coaches? T-ball coaches? Is your pediatrician a man? Maybe.....just maybe.....it's better to have an open dialogue with your kids about what is appropriate and what is not....and create an environment at home where your kids feel comfortable about communicating with you about questions or problems. And they tell you about their day at school. I'm sure you do that. Sometimes you just have to trust that your parenting will keep them aware without scaring them. Should I be worried about him? I think Scooby is only speaking of elementary school and younger. and no, actually, men do the same at that level as well. ignorant would be to think that there are no male teachers at the high school level groping children. And then there are the "private lessons" guys like that horrible swim coach who groped boys and girls. At the high school level, male teachers have relationships with students just like the female teachers you see in the news. on another note, studies show (i am trying to find this on the net) that teenage boy babysitters are by far more probable to molest than female babysitters. Near where I live, a 17-yr-old boy just killed his parents by beating them to death with a hammer. Then he had a party at his house while his parents' bodies were in their room. No priors so far as has been reported in the news and no psychosis/delusional thinking. A year ago, I evaluated an 18-yr-old male who killed his foster mother with a hammer. Scooby's Hubby
Please read bolded item ... this was not the study I was referring to but nevertheless ... and I am aware that both genders are guilty. my point is that the numbers point to males being more likely than females. You are right about the broiad brush, but the numbers point to males most likely to be a sex offender of an unerage child. In North America, for example, approximately 15% to 25% of women and 5% to 15% of men were sexually abused when they were children.[11][12][13] Most sexual abuse offenders are acquainted with their victims; approximately 30% are relatives of the child, most often brothers, fathers, uncles or cousins; around 60% are other acquaintances such as 'friends' of the family, babysitters, or neighbors; strangers are the offenders in approximately 10% of child sexual abuse cases.[11] Most child sexual abuse is committed by men; studies show that women commit 14% to 40% of offenses reported against boys and 6% of offenses reported against girls.[11][12][14] Most offenders who sexually abuse prepubescent children are pedophiles,[15][16] although some offenders do not meet the clinical diagnosis standards for pedophilia entire article here ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_sexual_...note-Whealin-
