Receivers are putting up serious statistics this season.

We're on pace for approximately 40 receivers to break 1000 yards, 25 for 1200 yards, and Hopkins has a shot at 2,000 yards. These are some sick numbers, especially when you take into account the league's leading rusher (Forte) is only on pace for 1350 yards.

ETA: Someone fix my typo in the topic and changes "seasons" to "season." LOL

teams are throwing the ball more than ever. look at rivers last week throwing almost 70 times and hitting 500 yards in one game. thats a lot of yardage combined with all the other qbs you should expect #s like those. it is awesome to see though.

and then it will get cold and wet outside. Numbers will tail off. I think last year also started on some crazy pace.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking unless for teams in the domes or nicer climates. So you still need those RBs for the fantasy playoffs.

I'm in multiple 16 team leagues where you don't have to start a RB and can start up to 5 WRs.

that's a lil over the top imo

Yeah, that's pretty serious. I just feel you should be able to set your lineup like any NFL team would and most don't have two running backs in the backfield anymore.

In a 16 team league it allows for multiple strategies and devalues RBs. Otherwise the few teams that land the best RBs are at a huge advantage. And it goes without saying that these are also full IDP leagues.

My only dynasty is a 20 team starter and I do my best to kick Keg's ass since we've been in the same division since Day 1....Big John too.

Without being able to go empty backfield with 2 TE's - I'd not be able to compete I think.

Do NFL rules require 1 RB minimum?

No, that's my point, there are no requirements for backs, but in general you usually see one running back in the backfield. In other words, I don't see the point in starting two RBs in fantasy football when most football teams don't even have two backs in their backfield.

Did the math on last year:

Weeks-- PASS / COMP / PYDS / PTDS
1 to 4..-- 4487 / 2874 / 32704 / 212
5 to 8..-- 4523 / 2829 / 33173 / 221
9 to 12.-- 4457 / 2776 / 31739 / 200
13 to 16- 4382 / 2704 / 30965 / 170
It does decline in the last half of the year but mostly for TDs

Thanks....good stats! I wonder how it varies by region and domes vs outdoors.
