Since sacking the QB is now 50/50 a personal foul...

I told you, touching QB = roughing.  You thought I was kidding?  It's about that bad now.

The really dumb part is that they did it not so much for "safety" as to improve scoring, which they feel attracts more viewers.  The morons don't seem to realize that not letting football be football will lose more than it gains with the slightly more scoring it supposedly helps.

It's awful, the rule is terrible, just put flags on the QB at this point. Another penalty in the cowboy game as Crawford sacked Wilson on a completely clean hit, but because he landed on him, the roughing the passer penalty continued the drive, whereas, Seattle would've been punting from the endzone.

That's why you may as well concuss the QB if you get to him.

Yep, may as well take your shot if you're going to get called no matter what anyway. Watch, they are going to start pounding the QB.

Prescott was just sacked, actually thrown to the ground pretty hard. Shocked they didn't throw a flag for possibly hurting his feelings, the turf, and for making a great play overall.

This is all about losing Rodgers last year. The NFL doesnt want marquee qbs going down for the year or the majority of the year. This pussification is here to stay

Sadly you are probably right, but much like the catch rule and complaints from fans and media, the NFL may react and change it. I don't have a lot of faith in that though. May as well just build a force field around the QB, and when a defender hits it with enough force it triggers a shock caller causing the QB to fall in a motionless heap.

I do wonder if some guys just get totally fed up and quit. Matthews isn't a dirty player, none of those sacks were bad at all, he's going to be ready to attack a ref if called again. What if he says "screw this I quit" what if all the defensive stars did that? Can the NFL exist without defense and pass rushers?

Between this BS - the hitting a receiver when they duck their head and getting flagged & no one knows what is a true catch has turned a once great game into an almost unwatchable sport....

I say make the QBs wear a sensor uniform that on two touches of the uniform - it lights up and QB is sacked / down at that point & no more tackling a QB (Newton will have to change positions or retire)
