They might burn Chicago down if they re-up Trubisky on another deal.

If they don't land Watson, what else is there?  I'd rather have someone with some upside that knows the system.  Surround that guy with talent on the skill position side and a good OL and he could be decent.  Foles is fools' gold.  Darnold would be only a slight upgrade over Trubisky and doesn't know the system.

What's the difference though? Chicago isn't ready to contend, especially with Trubisky. I'd rather see them trade up for a QB.

No offense but c'mon man that's like every NFL teams offensive goals, talent and line.  I can do this charade for Foles too, lets put some talent around him and give him a good OL and he can bring you a SB ring just like he did in Philly.  See?  It's a pipe dream.  Mitch doesn't work in this system, no matter what they do here he won't be good as long as it is in place.

So if not Watson, what's the solution?  Darnold?  Foles?  Draft a QB?

I hated the Trubisky pick and what it took to get him, but I recognize that he was able to thrive a bit in the system.

The franchise is stuck in neutral, that's the problem.  Complete overhaul is needed.  But if they're not going to do that, I'd at least want a mobile/athletic QB.

There may well be no correct answer to fix the problem at this time, but there are wrong ones.  With the state of things as they are Mitch is a wrong one.  He's already had his shot and failed, move on to something else or tank with what you have.

Ironic. This is EXACTLY the strategy that landed the Bears with Trubisky in the first place. I hope they've learned their lesson.

ETA: Sounds like Ryan Pace was the entire problem taking a QB there at all and then taking Trubisky over Watson or Mahomes. The only reason this guy still has a job is because no one in ownership gives two manures about the quality of the product on the field.

You're the GM, are you riding Trubisky or drafting a QB?

If it were me, I would've gone after Fitzpatrick. to be more direct, I would have let Trubisky go.

Now that we hear the news of Trubisky signing with Bills, I do have a hard time believing the Bears are rolling into Week 1 with Foles and Dalton. That seems like a death sentence.

I know, it's unfathomable. And that's a lot of money tied up on two backup QBs. But what could possibly be in the works? Nobody is going to take on their salaries. I think the Bears panicked when they couldn't get Watson.

After oc Bill Lazor called the plays for five season ending games and the Bears scored at least 30 points in four of them, Matt Nagy will resume the play calling this season.

Another brilliant move. :crybaby::sick:

Montgomery got hot with Lazor calling the plays. Not sure I'd trust him now.

I logged onto the forums, saw this thread pushed to the top and thought, wow somebody got poop canned on the Bears. Guess not.

Nagy gave Montgomery 16 carries, which is about the only thing he did right.

They deserve to be blasted Def. Let's take a look back.

The Mitch thing has been talked to death. Crippled future drafts for years, combined with additional stupidity.

The Mack thing has been talked about, but he's pretty much invisible. He'll flash for a few games soon, hurt his back or hamstring, and that's that.

The Quinn signing is purely a detriment to the team. That guy sucks and really makes no plays, at all. That is such a massive GM failure, and wasting money.

They give Eddie Jackson many Millions and the moment they do, he turns into a player who doesn't really care, and is fading faster than any S I can remember.

They let Kyle Fuller walk but have 5 TE's on their roster, and giving a lot of money to old QB's, but made it known their rookie QB wasn't a starter.

They continually trade draft collateral to ensure whoever comes next is in deep doo doo...this year's 2nd rounder, back surgery LT. Wow.

Remember Kevin White? Hroniss Grasu? Langford? Bullard? Shaheen? All 3rd rounders or better that bust.

This team is playing with a Coach that is a pretender, wants to be everyone's best friend. The pass chart from last night is quite frankly laughable. This roster is filled with 4th, 5th, and 6th rounders that aren't playing elsewhere except with the Lions, Jets, Giants, and Jags. Would Goodwin be on a team? How about Perriman who they just signed, 6 teams so far?

Joke isn't the right word for this team, and year after year, it will only get worse. This isn't even rock bottom. The defense is old in most places, and filled with other team's Special teamers in others. This is why it's not rational to care about them, because these bozo's have shat on the city.

And YES to all this.
