Ranking the possible FA QBs and where they will end up

1. Lamar Jackson - Stays with Baltimore

2. Tom Brady - Stays retired this time

3. Aaron Rodgers - New York Jets

4. Derek Carr - New Orleans Saints :shades:

5. Geno Smith - Stays with Seattle

6. Daniel Jones - Stays with Giants

7. Jimmy Garoppolo - This is a tough one. I think if Geno doesn't go back to Seattle then that's his landing spot. If not, it could be any one of Indy, NO, DC, HOU or LV.

8. Jameis Winston - I fully expect the Saints will let him walk & I'm betting he'll either end up back with the Bucs or LV.

9. Jacoby Brissett - I don't see him starting anywhere unless it's for a team that has no will to try.

10. Taylor Heinecke - Stays with Washington most likely

11. Baker Mayfield - I have a feeling about Houston

12. Andy Dalton - Stays with the Saints as starter or backup if they sign another QB

13. Sam Darnold - Stays with Panthers as backup

Am I missing anybody?

That's a pretty good list, Jimmy G is definitely the wild card. I doubt Mayfield will be going to Houston, they'll definitely be drafting a QB at 2 and still have Mills under control. I wouldn't be shocked if Mayfield resigns with the Rams as their backup, he'd be wise to do so.

I agree with Jameis, he'll probably end up back in TB on a low end starter deal.

That's a lot of mediocre quarterbacks. There's potential for some but that's a lot of Fair to Middlin

Which is what concerns me for the Saints. They seem to be mostly content with that Fair to Middlin range.

I'd bet he goes to Arizona.  Familiarity with the system/coaching and Kyler Murray won't likely be ready to start the season.  Brissett already has experience in this regard in "starting" for Watson last year.

Ah yes the Drew Ptezing connection at OC (Browns QB coach last year).

Yesp that could be a good fit for Brissett.

Bucs to pursue Mayfield?

Bucs supposedly also possibly interested in Brissett, Lock, and Gabbert per source mentioning Mayfield. Take it for what that's worth.

Bucs have an interest in free agents Baker Mayfield of the Rams, Jacoby Brissett of the Browns and even Blaine Gabbert, who backed up Brady in Tampa Bay. Drew Lock would seem a good fit from Seattle but there will be a big push for Mayfield as we address this a.m.

Heiniche to Atlanta

Returning to his Atlanta area roots. Depending on who you're listening to he's either the backup for Ridder or there to compete with him for the starting job.

An interesting note on Heinicke, in 2 seasons in WAS they went 12-11-1 with him starting, and 3-8 with all other QBs.
