montster
let's say you are in a 14-team redraft. you are trying to trade for maurice jones-drew. at the same time, another owner sends you a fair deal that would get you adrian peterson. now, if you took the deal for peterson, there's a good chance the MJD owner would back out, just so he's not responsible for one team having both MJD and AP. the best way this would work is to get the other owners to propose the trades, thereby letting you accept both of them simultaneously and not giving either owner a chance to back out. (in this league, there are no votes on trades and, as far as i know, no commissioner vetoes.) now, i see nothing wrong with this. however, this is my biggest money league and one i really enjoy. the only questionable thing is that i'd probably have to lie to get the other owners to propose the trades ("i'm not going to be at my computer for a while, so can you propose it?"), and then, once i accept both trades, the other owners will figure out why i needed them to propose them in the first place. that's the only part that feels dickish to me. the answer is probably, "who cares, you have a chance to get AP and MJD, grow a sack, you big baby," but i wanted to post this to see what others thought. whomper
Personally I never look at how strong my trade makes a particular team. If your trade was worth it to them before it should still be worth it to them now no matter what you acquire from another trade unrelated to them. If they do care about that sort of thing then there is nothing wrong with what you are thinking of doing. Odds are they wont put 2 and 2 together and figure out thats why you asked them to send the offer. Go for it.
Big Country
Nothing wrong with asking them to submit the offer.
The Grey Pilgrim
I don't think any of this crosses the line. Not in my book anyway. Sure, there could be some owner somewhere that would think differently. But from my perspective you are just "wheeling and dealing".
muck
Just don't give a reason when you ask them to submit the trade. Ain't no lie then.

T_bone65
Nothing wrong or underhanded with what you are doing. You are dealing with 2 different owners and none of the players you are using are in conflict with either trade.
Whiskey Pimp
I find it impressive that you are looking at getting 2 top backs from 2 different owners and neither one of them is requesting the same player from you. What happens if they both want similar guys to the point where you can't come to an agreement by changing the players up?

Belushi
I don't see anything wrong with it. There's no need to disclose other deals you may be working on. There's nothing here to feel guilty about.
STL Fan
I think it shows character to even ask about something like this. Most would do much worse than this without blinking. DO IT!

Chief Dick
Dude, this is the day you dream about your whole life as a FF player. You will go down in FF lore. Songs will be written, Menudo will write a poem, and irish will steal the idea and try to make the same trade. Make the deal, write a book about it, and whore yourself all over the huddle selling it. My take is that if the MJD owner has not contacted you yet I am thinking this may never go down and you are jumping the gun and having a lot of people here walking around with a woody when it looks like it may be for no reason at all. (i've got a very balanced team and felt accepting this trade would upset it too much.) the MJD owner ended up ignoring me. i was prepared to give up deangelo williams and a receiver, but he never responded. to dream the impossible dream ...
