bud29
Sure, they are 3-1 - but consider the opponents. They beat the saints, but so did the Browns. Their other two victories include a win against the 1-3 Titans, and a hugh rally against a STL team on their 3rd string QB. I see this as a similar situation to the 2013 chiefs - a good start gets some people excited, despite mediocre competition, but then they fall hard when the schedule gets tough. PerryPats
The NFL Futures line for the Dallas Cowboys just moved from +3500 to +2500* at TopBet, so apparently sportsbooks and bettors have sipped the KoolAid. They are about to be 4-1 (Oct 5 vs Texans) so expect those lines to change further to favor Dallas. They are expected to lose to Seattle (Oct 12), dropping to 4-2, so the lines won't shift then. Their game against the Giants (Oct 19) will be the most telling. I'm predicting a win there too. Edited October 1, 2014 by PerryPats

TonyBromo
I think a lot hinges on the game with Houston this week. From what I've seen so far, we should be able to handle them at home if we stick to this season's M.O. so far (always a huge if). I'm kind of writing them off at Seattle, so coming out of that game no worse than 4-2 would be huge with a chance to gain another game on the Giants the following week. I am as hopeful as I've been in a few years about this team but I'm always looking for that 8-8 team to show up again...

They aren't really going to big play you to death on offense which means if you don't put the ball on the ground and give them short fields and opportunities for more possessions, you can stay with them. The key is you have to play physical and any other year we never played as physical as this team is playing right now. Both have power running games. Advantage Seattle with their defense but our O is no slouch. I think this is going to be one hell of a game. Â Houston is what is important now. Focus on Houston. Wpob
You can only win the games on the schedule and right now they are 3-1 and at the least, this gives Cowboy fans hope. Look at their next six games before the bye: Â vs. Houston @ Seattle vs. Giants vs. Redskins vs. Cardinals @ Jacksonville BYE Â Should beat Texans, Redskins and Jaguars. That gets them to 6-1. Loss to Seahawks is 6-2. Call it split with the Cardinals and Giants and that is 7-3 through 10 games. A 3-3 record over the last 6 (four on the road) gives them a 10-6 record. Â As long as they stay the course with the running game and their most important player, DeMarco Murray, stays healthy, this is reasonable and COULD be the floor. Â HOWEVER, this being the Cowboys, anything is possible, including finishing the last 12 games 4-8 and finishing 7-9. the outlaw
They will end up 8-8. It is their destiny! Â Â ^^this...it's known as "the curse of Jerrah" Â i've avoided posting in any of these threads because my team REALLY sucks, and there's no denying it...has ever since the Gibbs I era, and lil' Danny Snyder took over ownership from ol' man Cook's estate... Â THAT is the only saving grace for the 'boys to be assured they're not going to finish last in the NFC Least, as Danny boy's ego is about the same size as Jerrah's...however, i can take great joy in the fact the 'boys are having some early success...will make it all that much sweeter when, at the conclusion of Week 17, after yet another season-ending loss due to a Tony Romo pick at the most crucial time of the game, they are who we thought they were...
