davehb1
Bears | Jones and Benson not the Best of Friends Thu, 22 Sep 2005 20:59:38 -0700 John Mullin, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears RBs Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson are rivals on the field and not best of friends off the field. Benson said after the team's Week 2 victory that his presence was helping to motivate Jones. "I'm motivating him. I think my game and my presence (are) motivating him," said Benson. Jones flashed irritation Thursday, Sept. 22, at his understudy's view of their relationship while also indicating his future may lie elsewhere. "Cedric Benson has nothing to do with my game whatsoever," Jones said. "I've been in the NFL. This is my sixth year. I've been running the ball ever since I've been playing football, before I knew Cedric Benson. And I'll continue to run the ball, whether I'm here or somewhere else." Benson can understand Jones' feeling. He described their relationship as "kind of quietly professional."
PaulOttCarruth
I would imagine that Benson's friends are few and far between after holding out for the entire preseason.

Ursa Majoris
I would imagine that Benson's friends are few and far between after holding out for the entire preseason. 1014362 Well he certainly doesn't have one in me. I wanted Edwards, and if we had to have an RB, would have much preferred Cadillac. Don't the Bears ever consider attitude when they draft? Vet
This sounds like an episode of Playmakers. Oh, wait....it was an episode of Playmakers. Oh wait....it was every episode of Playmakers. Now, if we can just get Benson to have the gay tight end run out into the parking lot during the halftime intermission to buy some crack for him...I think we may have something that people will tune in to see.... Benson needs a kick in the junk. No links. Think I read it at the official Bears forum. The Dark Knight

Vote Quimby2
Didn't they pass on Moss? 1014408 Tenn actually took Kevin Dyson over Moss. I think that was the only wr to be taken before Moss in that draft.

He was taken with pick 21. CIN had 2 picks and took 2 LB's Takeo Spikes and Brian Simmons. Of course that was the same year as the infamous Ryan Leaf pick too. spain
Just goes to show MAC schools get very little respect. 1014731 Not exactly. Moss was a thug with a tude. He had been kicked out of 3 schools and was a high risk/low character type guy. Denny Green took a chance on him...
