Jo
They probably won't get him with either of the 2 picks they have, so what are they going to do - move both 1sts to draft Sanchez? That would basically mean they traded Cutler for Sanchez straight up. If the market wasn't there for a GOOD 1st round pick, a 1st rounder next year, and a GOOD player (read: NOT Kyle Orton), THEN DON'T TRADE HIM. Morons. Pope Flick
cutler has shown to be very good in the weather. I don't know if he has big hands, or it's how he grips the ball....but cold and/or wet have not phased him much. and in wind, to the extent you throw, the stronger the arm the better. devin hester is going to be real interesting next year. and forte. if I see josh macdaniels someday walking down the street I swear to god I will groin punch him. I honestly think that Orton to Marshall and Royal is not going to be a bad thing. You guys lock in a running game and that won't be too big a drop. MikesVikes
Has to be a joke, surely? Just when we get a QB who is halfway decent and fits fairly well, we dump him for Daddy's Boy Cutler? Wait till it gets cold and Jay is doing his Michael "it's-so-cold-I-just-want-to-die" Vick impression in a crucial end of season game. Denver will get him back impaled on a rail. Edit: TWO FIRST ROUNDERS???????????????????????? This sounds like the Reusse column today in the Star Tribune. I wouldn't put that much stock in what Reusse had to say today. The Bears have never had a decent QB since ever and now they have one. I don't think that Cutler is as bad as the news that is cycling around daily about him. Reusse negatively compared Cutler to the Mannings in the article. He failed to mention that Eli and Archie whined when they didn't want to play for the Chargers and forced a trade out of there. Cutler's whine is more recent than Eli's but they both whined none the less. If I were Cutler, I would be confident in my abilities as well. I wouldn't enjoy it if my head coach tried to bring in another QB that had lower abilities to take over my job either. The dude can play and is just as competitive as any other QB. Here's the link to the article. link Edited April 2, 2009 by MikesVikes

Menudo
Absolute steal for Chicago, in my opinion. Getting a top-notched, proven, young QB is so difficult to do. A situation like this comes around once in a lifetime, the price will be well worth it. Cutler has one of the best arms in the league. I love this move for the Bears and think this makes them a dangerous team in the NFC next year. Trust me, a wide receiver will emerge with Cutler throwing him the ball. It shouldn't cost another first to move up to get Sanchez. But, even if it did they can certainly trade the Bears 1st round pick and pair it with their own this year. That gives them Sanchez and 2 first round picks next year. So it wouldn't be a straight up deal.

CaP'N GRuNGe
Boldin anyone? Boldin to the Bears would make me a VERY happy Bear fan! Don't get greedy. What are they going to give for him now? By the way, let the Shanny to Chicago rumors begin...

Bronco Billy
Bears = instant contenders. Broncos = vying for 2010 1.01. Should be one hell of a battle between Simms & Orton for starting QB job.
rocknrobn26
I'm finally excited to be a Bear fan!!!!!!!!! WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!1 +1, but I wish they could have dealt Rexie instead, but that is too much to wish for. Caleb...you are on deck. lol.....now denver needs a qb. You may be underestimating Orton. I'm not sure who you will be making fun of, but, the rest of us will be making fun of Rivers. Those whining, angry faces he makes. CaP'N GRuNGe
Hmmmm....I probably shouldn't say this out loud...but if/when the Vikings move out of Minnesota in a couple of years because of no stadium, I may just have to adopt the Bears as at least I can still root against the Packers. Of course there's always the Cardinals. This was a pretty big package to give up, but man i'm pissed at Vikings management right now. Yes i'm bitter. Bronco Billy
Did Brandon Marshall get thrown in as well. Who does he throw to? Cutler will make the Bears' WRs better. Not saying Cutler is Favre, but look at what a very talented QB can do when you look at the crap that Favre turned into legit WRs. Forte & Olsen as targets help a bunch. You've never liked Orton, I believe you will learn to. Orton is a 2nd string NFL QB.
